Rob Simonsen is composing the score for the upcoming coming-of-age drama The House of Tomorrow. The film marks the directorial debut of Peter Livolsi and stars Asa Butterfield, Alex Wolff, Ellen Burstyn, Nick Offerman, Maude Apatow and Michaela Watkins. The movie is based on Peter Bognanni’s novel of the same name and tells the story of futurist, architect and inventor R. Auxiliary will release a soundtrack album for the horror thriller Bottom of the World. The album features the film’s original music composed by James Clements (The Blackout Experiments). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 10, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Bottom of the World is directed by Richard Sears and stars Jena Malone, Douglas Smith and Ted Levine. The movie centers on a man who goes on a journey for truth after his girlfriend disappears. ‘Gangsterdam’ Soundtrack Announced

L’R du Trésor will release a soundtrack album for Romain Lévy’s French comedy Gangsterdam. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob (aka Robin Coudert) (Horns, Maniac, Populaire, Every Secret Thing) who previously scored Lévy’s Radiostars. Also included are tracks by Tangerine Dream, Skepta, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Booba, The Game and Omer Adam. The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 29, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Gangsterdam starring Kev Adams, Manon Azem, Côme Levin, Mona Walravens and Patrick Timsit follows three college students who travel to Amsterdam, where their lives become a lot more complicated when they find out that the drug they’ve come to collect belongs to the city’s most notorious criminals. Mercury Classics is releasing the original song Take My Leave of You from the first episode of the third season of ITV’s Broadchurch. The track is composed by the show’s composer Olafur Arnalds and performed by Arnór Dan and is being released as a digital single on February 28 and is available to download on Amazon. Broadchurch is created by Chris Chibnall and stars David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Arthur Darvill, Carolyn Pickles, Adam Wilson and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Justin Hurwitz Wins Oscar for ‘La La Land’

Justin Hurwitz has received the Academy Award for his score for Damien Chazelle’s La La Land. The other nominated composers in the Best Original Score category were Mica Levi (Jackie), Dustin O’Halloran & Hauschka (Lion), Nicholas Britell (Moonlight) and Thomas Newman (Passengers). Hurwitz also received a second Oscar for the original song City of Stars from the movie musical and shared the honor with lyricists Justin Paul and Benj Pasek.
Danny Elfman to Receive Max Steiner Award

It was announced today that Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Nightmare Before Christmas, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Alice in Wonderland) is the recipient of this year’s Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award, which will be presented at the annual Hollywood in Vienna Concert Gala at Vienna Concert Hall on September 29, 2017. The composer will be accepting the award in person and is also expected to perform one of his songs. Premiering tomorrow, February 27, is the ABC mini-series When We Rise created by Dustin Lance Black and starring Guy Pearce, Mary-Louise Parker, Rachel Griffiths, Michael K. Williams and Ivory Aquino. The show’s themes and music are composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland) and Chris Bacon (Source Code, Bates Motel). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring a suite from the composers’ score, as well as songs by Jordan Fisher, Fancy, Brandi Carlile and Zella Day.
