Jay Wadley has been hired to score the upcoming romantic drama Cruise. The film is written and directed by Robert D. Siegel (Big Fan, screenwriter of The Wrestler & The Founder) and stars Emily Ratajkowski, Spencer Boldman, Kathrine Narducci, Noah Robbins and Sebastian Maniscalco. The movie is set during the summer of 1987 and revolves around a working-class Italian-American who falls for a Jewish girl from Long Island. Silva Screen Records has announced a digital release for the soundtrack album for the Sherlock episode The Abominable Bride. The album features the music from the feature-length episode composed by David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Tomorrow Never Dies) & Michael Price (The Inbetweeners 2, Unforgotten). The soundtrack, which is set to be released digitally on March 31, was previously available as an online-order exclusive bonus CD with the release of the Sherlock Season 4 soundtrack. Adrian Johnston has been tapped to score the upcoming BBC limited series Cormoran Strike. The show is based J.K. Rowling’s bestselling crime novels, which she wrote under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, and stars Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger. The drama centers on a war veteran turned private detective operating out of a tiny office in London’s Denmark Street. The series comprises of The Cuckoo’s Calling, with three hour-long episodes and The Silkworm and Career of Evil, both with two hour-long episodes. Mark Isham is scoring the upcoming documentary Let It Fall: Los Angeles 1982-1992. The film is written and directed by John Ridley (12 Years a Slave, Shame) and explores the city-wide violence that began April 29, 1992, when the verdict was announced in the Rodney King case. The movie delves beyond the conflict between law enforcement and the black community to look at tensions across the city as a whole. Ridley is also producing the project. Death Waltz Recording Co. has released a score album for the horror thriller The Devil’s Candy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Yezerski (The Little Death, Mental, Only the Dead See the End of the War, We Don’t Belong Here). The soundtrack is now available to download on Bandcamp, where you can also check out audio samples. A vinyl release is set for May. As previously reported, J-2 Music has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie. The Devil’s Candy is written and directed by Sean Byrne and stars Ethan Embry, Shiri Appleby, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Kiara Glasco.
