hated-womanPremiering on Friday, March 24, is the Netflix original movie The Most Hated Woman in America directed by Tommy O’Haver and starring Melissa Leo, Peter Fonda, Josh Lucas, Adam Scott, Juno Temple, Vincent Kartheiser, Rory Cochran, Michael Chernus, Sally Kirkland, Anna Camp and Alex Frost. Alan Azar (An American Affair) has composed the film’s original music. The album features the show’s original score composed by Josef Bach, as well as the songs from the drama by Chester Travis, Tina Pepper, Walking On Cars, Simon Hughes & more. The soundtrack is now available digitally overseas. flowerJoey Stephens has composed the music for the upcoming comedy drama Flower. The film is directed by Max Winkler (Ceremony) and stars Zoey Deutch, Kathryn Hahn, Tim Heidecker, Adam Scott, Joey Morgan and Dylan Gelula. The movie centers on the unlikely bond that forms between a sexually adventurous teenage girl and her obese, mentally unstable step-brother. Winkler also co-wrote the screenplay with Alex McAulay and Matt Spicer (Ingrid Goes West) who is also producing the project with Eric B. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

beauty-beast-deluxeOpening in most theaters is Disney’s live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast directed by Bill Condon and starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen, Audra McDonald and Emma Thompson. The film’s original music is composed by Alan Menken (The Little MermaidAladdin). He also wrote the movie’s classic songs with Howard Ashman and the new songs with lyricist Tim Rice. ghost-shellLorne Balfe has composed original music for the upcoming film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. He is credited as the film’s composer alongside Clint Mansell who was previously announced as the movie’s composer. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the film’s score later this month. The sci-fi adventure is directed by Rupert Sanders and stars Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbaek, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche and Michael Pitt. The movie based on the Japanese manga of the same title created by Masamune Shirow will be released nationwide on March 31, 2017 by Paramount Pictures. Sam Phillips and Eric Gorfain have scored the Amazon Studios pilot The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The show is created by Amy Sherman-Palladino and stars Rachel Brosnahan, Michael Zegen, Alex Borstein, Tony Shalhoub and Marin Hinkle. The drama is set in 1958 Manhattan tells the story of Miriam “Midge” Maisel whose perfect life suddenly takes an unexpected turn. Sherman-Palladino has also directed the pilot and is executive producing the project with Daniel Palladino. Phillips has previously scored all episodes of Sherman-Palladino’s Gilmore Girls and last year’s Netflix revival of the series, as well as ABC Family’s Bunheads. Read the rest of this entry »

The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 24, 2017 by Back Lot Music and physically the following week.
