Junkie XL (aka Tom Holkenborg) has recently recorded his music for the upcoming film adaptation of Mortal Engines. The film is directed by Christian Rivers and stars Hugo Weaving Hera Hilmar, Robert Sheehan, Jihae, Ronan Rafterty, Leila George, Patrick Maladhide and Stephen Lang. The movie based on Philip Reeve’s book of the same title is set thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event and cities survive a now desolate Earth by moving around on giant wheels attacking and devouring smaller towns to replenish their resources. Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in its CD Club series, including a remastered deluxe edition for the 1972 western The Cowboys directed by Mark Rydell and starring John Wayne, Roscoe Lee Browne, Slim Pickens, Colleen Dewhurst and Bruce Dern. The album features the film’s expanded original score composed and conducted by John Williams (Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T.), including previously unreleased music and alternate tracks. The album features the film’s original score composed by Jacob Yoffee (Finding Carter, Pawn, Andi Mack, Infinity Chamber) who recorded his music with an orchestra in Los Angeles. Score Album for ‘Hotel Transylvania’ Movies to Be Released

Sony Classical will release the first soundtrack album for Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania franchise. The album features selections from the original scores of 2012’s Hotel Transylvania, 2015’s Hotel Transylvania 2 and the upcoming Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation composed by Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, The Royal Tenenbaums). The soundtrack will be released on July 6, 2018 and will be available to download here. A CD version is now available to pre-order as an import on Amazon. Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters Pixar’s animated feature Incredibles 2 directed by Brad Bird and featuring the voices of Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner and Samuel L. Jackson. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Ratatouille, Inside Out, Star Trek, Lost, Jurassic World, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). Soundtrack for Pixar’s ‘Bao’ Released

Walt Disney Records has released the soundtrack for the new Pixar Animation Studios short Bao. The film’s original music is composed by Toby Chu (Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return, Covert Affairs, Unforgettable, Burn Notice, Henchmen). The soundtrack is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. Bao is directed by Domee Shi and follows an empty-nesting Chinese mom who gets another chance at motherhood when one of her dumplings springs to life and must come to terms with the bittersweet revelation that nothing stays cute and small forever.
