Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1981 fantasy adventure Time Bandits co-written, directed and produced by Terry Gilliam and starring Sean Connery, John Cleese, Shelley Duvall, Ralph Richardson, Katherine Helmond, Ian Holm, Michael Palin, Peter Vaughan and David Warner. The album features the original score from the HandMade Films production composed by Mike Moran (Water, The Missionary). Also included is the end credits song Dream Away by George Harrison. Meliam Music has released a soundtrack album for Terry Gilliam’s The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. The album features the film’s original music composed by Roque Banos (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead, In the Heart of the Sea, The Machinist, Risen). The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also check out audio samples. The Man Who Killed Don Quixote is co-written and directed by Gilliam and stars Adam Driver, Stellan Skarsgard, Jonathan Pryce and Olga Kurylenko. The movie follows a jaded young advertising executive who becomes pulled into a world of time jumping fantasy when a Spanish cobbler believes him to be Sancho Panza.
Roque Banos to Score Terry Gilliam’s ‘The Man Who Killed Don Quixote’
Roque Banos has been hired to score the upcoming film adaptation of The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. The film is directed by Terry Gilliam (Brazil, The Fisher King, The Brothers Grimm) and stars Adam Driver, Michael Palin, Stellan Skarsgard and Olga Kurylenko. The movie follows a jaded young advertising executive who returns to the Spanish village where he made a film based on Cervantes’ masterpiece years earlier and meets a villager who believes himself to be Don Quixote as he gets swept up in a fantastic extravaganza complete with damsels in distress, knights and giants. Gilliam also co-wrote the screenplay with Tony Grisoni (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Tideland) based on the novel by Miguel de Cervantes y Saavedra.

It was announced today that Alberto Iglesias is set to compose the music for Terry Gilliam’s upcoming film adaptation of The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. The film starring Adam Driver, Michael Palin and Olga Kurylenko follows a jaded young advertising executive who returns to the Spanish village where he made a film based on Cervantes’ masterpiece years earlier and meets a villager who believes himself to be Don Quixote as he gets swept up in a fantastic extravaganza complete with damsels in distress, knights and giants. Gilliam (Brazil, The Fisher King, The Brothers Grimm) has also co-written the screenplay with Tony Grisoni (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Tideland). Paolo Branco (Cosmopolis) is producing the project.
‘The Zero Theorem’ Soundtrack Details
Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for Terry Gilliam’s sci-fi drama The Zero Theorem. The album features the film’s original music composed by George Fenton (Dangerous Beauty, Groundhog Day, Hitch) who previously scored the director’s The Fisher King. Also included is the song Creep by Argentine jazz singer Karen Souza. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 28, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Zero Theorem stars Christoph Waltz, David Thewlis, Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, Matt Damon, Lucas Hedges, Peter Stormare and Melanie Thierry. The drama follows an eccentric computer genius plagued with existential angst as he works on a mysterious project aimed at discovering the purpose of existence. The movie premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and is being released in select international territories over the next few months.

George Fenton is currently scoring the upcoming sci-fi drama The Zero Theorem. The film is directed by Terry Gilliam and stars Christoph Waltz, David Thewlis, Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, Matt Damon, Lucas Hedges, Peter Stormare and Melanie Thierry. The movie follows an eccentric computer genius plagued with existential angst as he works on a mysterious project aimed at discovering the purpose of existence. Pat Rushin wrote the screenplay and Dean Zanuck (Road to Perdition, Get Low) is producing the Mediapro Studios production with Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Killer Joe, The Company You Keep) of Voltage Pictures. Fenton has previously scored Gilliam’s 1991 drama The Fisher King.
