Intrada Records has announced the world premiere release of the complete soundtrack for the 1984 romantic comedy The Lonely Guy directed Arthur Hiller and starring Steve Martin, Charles Grodin, Judith Ivey, Steve Lawrence and Robyn Douglass. The album features the film’s complete original score composed by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Planet of the Apes, Patton, Poltergeist), as well as alternate cues and revisions. Also included are the songs from the movie (as featured on the original vinyl soundtrack release) by Max Carl, Winston Ford, Gerard McMahon and America. Isobel Waller-Bridge has been hired to score the upcoming BBC drama The ABC Murders. The mini-series is based on Agatha Christie’s classic 1936 title and stars John Malkovich as Hercule Poirot, Rupert Grint, Andrew Buchan, Eamon Farren, Tara Fitzgerald, Bronwyn James and Freya Mavor. Sarah Phelps (Ordeal by Innocence, The Crimson Field, And Then There Were None) has adapted Christie’s novel for the small screen. ‘Yucatan’ Soundtrack Released

Meliam Music has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish comedy Yucatan. The album features the film’s original music composed by Roque Banos (Don’t Breathe, In the Heart of the Sea, The Machinist, Evil Dead, The Commuter). The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples and check out the full track list. A CD version is available to order here. Yucatan is directed by Daniel Monzon and stars Luis Tosar, Rodrigo de la Serna, Joan Pera and Stephanie Cayo. The movie revolves around two swindlers who make their cons on cruise ships as they go their separate ways, but an unexpected event causes them to be back in the same part of the world once again. Premiering on Tuesday, September 4, is the FX original series Mayans MC created by Kurt Sutter & Elgin James and starring JD Pardo, Clayton Cardenas, Edward James Olmos, Sarah Bolger, Michael Irby, Carla Baratta, Antonio Jaramillo, Raoul Max Trujillo, Richard Cabral and Danny Pino. The show’s original music is composed by Bob Thiele Jr. who previously composed FX’s Sons of Anarchy. 20th Century Fox TV Records has released the first track from the soundtrack, Nunca performed by David Hidalgo & Los Refugios Tiernos, earlier this week. Jeff Beal has recently recorded his score for the upcoming documentary The Biggest Little Farm. The film is directed by John Chester (Rock Prophecies, Euphoria) and follows the filmmaker and his wife Molly Chester, a culinary writer, who trade city life to start their own farm on a stretch of depleted soil outside Los Angeles. Chester is also producing the project with Sandra Keats who previously served as a co-producer and associate producer on the Beal-scored documentaries Generation Wealth and Last Call at the Oasis. Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:
Already playing in theaters nationwide since this past Wednesday is the historical thriller Operation Finale directed by Chris Weitz and starring Oscar Isaac, Ben Kingsley, Lior Raz, Melanie Laurent, Nick Kroll, Joe Alwyn, Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Aronov, Ohad Knoller and Greta Scacchi. The film’s original music is composed by Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of Water, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). Also opening wide is the sci-fi thriller Kin directed by Jonathan Baker & Josh Baker and starring Jack Reynor, Myles Truitt, Zoë Kravitz, Carrie Coon, Dennis Quaid and James Franco. Sade has recorded the original song The Big Unknown for Steve McQueen’s upcoming heist thriller Widows. The track is co-written by herself and Ben Travers who also produced the song with Aaron Taylor Dean. The singer/songwriter has previously contributed an original song for Ava DuVernay’s A Wrinkle in Time, which was released earlier this year. ‘Slice’ Soundtrack Details

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the horror comedy Slice. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ludwig Goransson (Black Panther, Creed, Community, Fruitvale Station) and Nathan Matthew David (The Last Word, Angie Tribeca). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 14, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Slice is written and directed by Austin Vesely and stars Zazie Beetz, Chance the Rapper and Will Brill. The movie is set in a spooky small town, where a slew of pizza delivery boys are slain on the job, and follows two daring survivors who set out to catch the culprits behind the cryptic crime spree.
