Composer Nathan Furst is reteaming with director Scott Waugh on the upcoming action thriller Project X-Traction. The film starring Jackie Chan and John Cena follows a retired Chinese military man and now private security contractor who is sent to rescue workers from a Chinese-run oil refinery under attack.When he learns that the attackers’ real plan is to steal a fortune in oil, he teams up with an American to stop them. Arash Amel (A Private War, Grace of Monaco) wrote the screenplay. Chan is also producing the project for his Sparkle Roll Media production company, alongside Joe Tam, Esmond Ren (Skiptrace) and Hans Canosa (Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac). The film is directed by Kyle Newacheck (Game Over, Man!, Workaholics) and stars Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Luke Evans, Gemma Arterton, Luis Gerardo Mendez, Shioli Kutsuna, David Walliams, Adeel Akhtar, John Kani, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Dany Boon and Terence Stamp. The comedy follows a New York cop and his wife who – after attending a gathering on a billionaire’s yacht during a European vacation – become prime suspects when he’s murdered. The album features the film’s original music composed by Thomas Couzinier & Frédéric Kooshmanian (Black Spot, Goal of the Dead). Javier Navarrete has been tapped to score the upcoming supernatural horror thriller Antlers. The film is directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, Black Mass, Out of the Furnace) and stars Keri Russell, Jesse Plemons, Jeremy T. Thomas, Graham Greene, Amy Madigan, Scott Haze and Rory Cochrane. The movie follows a small-town Oregon teacher and her brother, the local sheriff, as they become entwined with a young student harboring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences. Variety is reporting that Janelle Monae is contributing two original songs to the upcoming live-action remake of Disney’s Lady and the Tramp. In addition, her artist collective Wondaland is also recording a new version of The Siamese Cat Song originally performed by Peggy Lee for the 1955 animated classics. Monae is also part of the voice cast of the movie, which is directed by Charlie Bean and also stars Tessa Thompson, Justin Theroux, Sam Elliott, Ashley Jensen, Kiersey Clemons, Thomas Mann, Benedict Wong and Yvette Nicole Brown.  Read the rest of this entry »

The film based on the classic 70s TV series is directed by Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect 2) and stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott & Ella Balinska in the title roles, as well as Sam Claflin, Noah Centineo, Djimon Hounsou, Patrick Stewart and Banks herself. Pop Noire will release a soundtrack album for the documentary XY Chelsea. The album features the film’s original music composed by Savages front woman Jehnny Beth & Johnny Hostile. The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 7 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. XY Chelsea is directed by Tim Travers Hawkins and tells the historic story of whistle-blower Chelsea Manning, whose 35-year sentence in a maximum security prison was commuted by President Obama in 2017. Mark Korven has composed the original score for the upcoming horror thriller The Lighthouse. The film is directed by Robert Eggers and stars Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe. The movie tells the story of an aging lighthouse keeper who lives in early 20th-century Maine. Robert Eggers also co-wrote the screenplay with Max Eggers.
