Hollywood Records will release the official soundtrack album for the comedy drama Rental Family. The album features the film’s original music composed by Sigur Rós lead singer Jónsi (We Bought a Zoo, Without Remorse, Aloha) and Alex Somers (Nickel Boys, Captain Fantastic, Holland, Honey Boy, Causeway, Together, Together, Dawson City: Frozen Time). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 21 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The movie is set against modern-day Tokyo and follows an American actorwho struggles to find purpose until he lands an unusual gig: working for a Japanese “rental family” agency, playing stand-in roles for strangers.

Sigur Rós lead singer Jónsi (Without Remorse, We Bought a Zoo) and Alex Somers (Captain Fantastic, Nickel Boys, Holland, Honey Boy, Together, Together, Causeway, Dawson City: Frozen Time) are reuniting to score the upcoming comedy drama Rental Family. The film is directed by Hikari (37 Seconds, Beef) and stars Brendan Fraser, Takehiro Hira, Mari Yamamoto, Shannon Gorman and Akira Emoto. The movie follows a lonely, down and out American actor living in Tokyo who starts working for a Japanese “rental family” company to play various stand-in roles in other people’s lives.
’37 Seconds’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Japanese drama 37 Seconds. The album features the film’s original music composed by Aska Matsumiya (Skate Kitchen, Selah and the Spades). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, January 31 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. 37 Seconds is written and directed by Hikari and stars Mei Kayama, Misuzu Kanno, Shunsuke Daitoh, Makiko Watanabe, Minori Hagiwara, Haruka Imou, Kiyohiko Shibukawa and Eita Okuno. The movie revolves around a young manga artist who goes on an unconventional journey for sexual freedom and personal liberation.
