Premiering on Wednesday, December 4 is the Fox comedy The Moodys developed by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg & Tad Quill based on the Australian TV series A Moody Christmas and starring Denis Leary, Elizabeth Perkins, Francois Arnaud, Chelsea Frei and Jay Baruchel. The show’s original music is composed by Lyle Workman (Superbad, The 40-Year Old Virgin, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Overboard, Good Boys). Premiering on Thursday, December 5 is the Netflix original series V Wars created by William Laurin & Glenn Davis based on the comics by Jonathan Maberry & Alan Robinson and starring Ian Somerhalder, Adrian Holmes, Jacky Lai, Peter Outerbridge, Kyle Harrison Breitkopf and Kimberly-Sue Murray. Andrew Lockington (San Andreas, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Rampage,) has composed the show’s themes and Michael White (Hevn) has composed the project’s score. Soundtrack Album for BBC’s ‘The War of the Worlds’ Released

Modus Recordings/RD Arts and Mammoth Screen have released a soundtrack album for the BBC mini-series The War of the Worlds. The album features selections of the original music from the 3-parter composed by Russ Davies. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. The War of the Worlds is directed by Craig Viveiros, written by Peter Harness and stars Eleanor Tomlinson, Rafe Spall, Rupert Graves, Nicholas Le Prevost, Harry Melling, Jonathan Aris and Robert Carlyle. ‘Wings Over Everest’ Soundtrack Released

Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the Chinese action adventure Wings Over Everest. The album features the film’s original music composed by Kenji Kawai (Ghost in the Shell, Ip Man, Ring, Dark Water). The soundtrack is now available to stream and download on Amazon Music, where you can also check out audio samples. Wings Over Everest is written and directed by Fei Yu and stars  Zhang Jingchu, Koji Yakusho and Austin Po-Hung Lin. The movie tells the story of a rescue team that must go after a crashed plane in the Himalayas to recover important CIA documents that could prevent a terrorist incident. Two new movies are opening in theaters nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the murder mystery Knives Out written and directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Katherine Langford and Christopher Plummer. The film’s original music is composed by Nathan Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom, Don Jon, Looper). Cut Narrative has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening nationwide is the drama Queen & Slim directed by Melina Matsoukas, written by Lena Waithe and starring Daniel Kaluuya and Jodie Turner-Smith. Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) (Palo Alto) has composed the film’s original score. Domino Recording Co. has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score (click here for more information) and Motown Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie (click here for more details). Sire Records has released the original end credits song One Little Soldier from the drama Bombshell. The album features the original score from Chapter 4 of the show composed by Academy Award winner Ludwig Goransson (Black Panther, Creed, Venom, Community, New Girl). Disaster Movie Soundtrack Collection Announced

La-La Land Records has announced the Disaster Movie Soundtrack Collection featuring three scores composed and conducted by John Williams (Star Wars, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List). The 4-CD set features the composer’s scores for 1972’s The Poseidon Adventure directed by Ronald Neame, 1974’s The Towering Inferno directed by John Guillermin and 1974’s Earthquake directed by Mark Robson and includes previously unreleased music for the latter two titles. La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for Roland Emmerich’s 1994 sci-fi adventure Stargate starring Kurt Russell and James Spader. The 25th Anniversary edition features the expanded and remastered score from the movie composed by David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Sherlock, Tomorrow Never Dies, Shaft), including over 30 minutes of previously unreleased music. Sony Classical will release a score album for the Epix original series Godfather of Harlem. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Academy Award nominee Mark Isham (Crash, A River Runs Through It, Once Upon a Time, The Accountant, Miracle). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 29 and will be available to stream/download here. ‘The Song of Names’ Soundtrack Details

The full details of the soundtrack album for the drama The Song of Names have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed, orchestrated and conducted by Academy Award winner Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Silence of the Lambs, The Departed, Hugo, The Aviator, The Hobbit). Ray Chen is the featured solo violinist. Also included is the original title song written by Shore, featuring words by Jeffrey Caine and performed by Daniel Mutlu. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 13 by Decca Records (click here to order). A CD version will be coming out the following week and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
