Antonio Pinto (City of God, Lord of War, McFarland, USA, Amy, The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind) has composed the original music for the upcoming drama Good Joe Bell. The film is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green (Monsters and Men) and stars. Mark Wahlberg, Connie Britton, Reid Miller, Maxwell Jenkins and Gary Sinise. The movie tells the true story of a Oregonian father’s walk across the US to raise awareness about the harms of bullying. Dana Ossana & Larry McMurtry (Brokeback Mountain, The Last Picture Show) have written the screenplay. Wahlberg is also producing the project with Stephen Levinson (Entourage, Deepwater Horizon), Daniela Taplin Lundberg (The Kids Are Alright, Harriet), Riva Marker & Jake Gyllenhaal (Wildlife, Stronger), Eva Maria Daniels (Hold the Dark), Cary Fukunaga (Beasts of No Nation, No Time to Die) and Ryan Ahrens (Uncorked). Kris Bowers was originally attached to score the film. Good Joe Bell will premiere next week at the 2020 Toronto Film Festival.
Pinto’s other recent projects include Edson Oda’s Nine Days, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is currently scheduled to be released in select theaters on January 22, 2021 by Sony Pictures Classics.
