Owen Pallett (Her, The Box, Spaceship Earth, Life) is composing the original score for the upcoming comedic thriller On the Count of Three. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Jerrod Carmichael and stars himself, alongside Christopher Abbott, Tiffany Haddish, J.B. Smoove, Lavell Crawford and Henry Winkler. The movie follows a man who has reached a place where he feels the only way out is to end things and teams up with his best friend, who is recovering from a failed suicide attempt, to execute a double suicide plan. Disney+ announced today that Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez (Frozen, Frozen II, Coco, The Book of Mormon) have composed the theme song for Marvel’s limited series WandaVision. They also wrote unique songs for several episodes, spanning from the 1950s to the early 2000s. The theme song is featured in the show’s latest TV spot, which can be checked out after the jump. As previously reported, Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man, The Muppets, Edge of Tomorrow) is composing the original score for the 9-parter directed by Matt Shakman and starring Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff, Paul Bettany as Vision, Kathryn Hahn as Agnes, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, as well as Kat Dennings and Randall Park. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Piscitello (No Place on Earth, Mike Wallace Is Here, Too Funny to Fail, Memory Games). The show is created and written by Wendy Molyneux, Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin & Minty Lewis and features the voices of Nick Offerman, Jenny Slate, Megan Mullally, Will Forte, Dulcé Sloan, Paul Rust and Aparna Nancherla. Singer/songwriter Anna Waronker is the composer of the new Fox comedy Call Me Kat. The show is based on the British series Miranda created by Miranda Hart and stars Mayim Bialik, Swoosie Kurtz, Leslie Jordan, Kyla Pratt, Cheyenne Jackson and Julian Gant. The series revolves around a woman who struggles every day against society and her mother to prove that she can live a happy and fulfilling life despite still being single at 39. Darlene Hunt (The Big C) is the project’s showrunner and is also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment production with Hart, Bialik, Jim Parsons, Todd Spiewak (Young Sheldon), Angie Stephenson (The Night Of), as well as Beth McCarthy-Miller who also directed the first episode. Perseverance Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Flannery. The album features the film’s original score composed by Miriam Cutler (RBG, The Hunting Ground, Love, Gilda, Ethel, Dark Money). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 5, 2021 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Flannery is directed by Elizabeth Coffman & Mark Bosco and centers on the life and work of author Flannery O’Connor, whose distinctive Southern Gothic style influenced a generation of artists and activists. The drama, which revolves aroun a woman affected by dementia who struggles to solve the disappearance of her friend, premiered in the UK in late 2019 on BBC One and is making its domestic debut on PBS as part of the Masterpiece series. Chris Keating of the former rock band Yeasayer has made his feature film scoring debut on the upcoming crime thriller Body Brokers. The film is directed by John Swab (Run with the Hunted) and stars Jack Kilmer, Alice Englert, Michael K. Williams, Melissa Leo, Frank Grillo, Jessica Rothe, Owen Campbell, Peter Greene, Sam Quartin and Thomas Dekker. The movie follows two junkies from Ohio who travel to Los Angeles for drug treatment, when they learn that the rehab process is a cover for a predatory business, enlisting addicts to recruit other addicts. Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the Doctor Who holiday special Revolution of the Daleks. The album features the original music from the Series 12 special composed by Segun Akinola (The Last Tree). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 2 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. A physical version is also in the works. The label has previously released two soundtracks featuring Akinola’s score from Season 11 and Season 12.
