Caldera Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1996 British drama Alive & Kicking (aka Indian Summer) directed by Nancy Meckler and starring Jason Flemyng, Antony Sher, Diane Parish, Dorothy Tutin and Bill Nighy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Peter Salem (Call the Midwife, The Vice, Five Daughters, Painted Lady). Also included are selections from Salem’s music for the 2003 BBC production Caravaggio, as well as a quartet written by the composer. Alive & Kicking premiered at the 1996 BFI Film Festival and was released theatrically in the UK the following year (under the title Indian Summer) and in the U.S. by First Look Pictures. The film was also released later on DVD.
