Air-Edel Records has released a soundtrack album for the Mexican stop-motion animated feature I Am Frankelda (Soy Frankelda). The album features the film’s original music composed by Kevin Smithers who previously scored the Frankelda’s Book of Spooks TV series. The soundtrack, which was first released in Latin American markets last fall when the movie opened in Mexican theaters, is now available to stream/download worldwide on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list. I Am Frankelda is written and directed by Arturo Ambriz & Roy Ambriz and stars Mireya Mendoza, Arturo Mercado Jr, Luis Leonardo Suárez, Fela Domínguez, Gabriela Cárdenas and Beto Castillo. The movie tells the story of a gifted young writer in 19th-century Mexico who journeys into her subconscious and comes face to face with characters from her own spooky stories. The animated feature, which premiered at last year’s Guadalajara International Film Festival, was released in select U.S. theaters and on Netflix this past June.
