Only one new movie is opening wide this weekend:
Expected to have the biggest opening of the year at the domestic box office is The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 directed by Francis Lawrence and starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Stanley Tucci, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Woody Harrelson. The film’s original score is composed by James Newton Howard who previously scored the first two installments in the series. Republic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from and inspired by the film, including the original song Yellow Flicker Beat by Lorde who curated the album. Opening in limited release is the drama Reach Me written and directed by John Herzfeld and starring Sylvester Stallone, Tom Berenger, Kevin Connolly, Kyra Sedgwick, Nelly, Kelsey Grammer, Cary Elwes, Terry Crews, Ryan Kwanten and Tom Sizemore. Tree Adams (Californication, Perception) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a score release. Simba Records has released an EP featuring three songs from the film by Frank Stallone. Premiering on Saturday, January 25, is the Starz original series Black Sails created by Jon Steinberg & Robert Levine and starring Toby Stephens, Luke Arnold, Zach McGowan, Toby Schmitz, Hannah New, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Clara Paget, Tom Hopper and Mark Ryan. The show’s original music is composed by Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica) who previously scored the Steinberg-produced Human Target. Check out 
Tree Adams has recently composed the score for the upcoming drama Reach Me. The movie is directed by John Herzfeld (15 Minutes, 2 Days in the Valley) and stars Sylvester Stallone, Kyra Sedgwick, Tom Berenger, Kevin Connolly, Thomas Jane, Kelsey Grammer, Nelly, Danny Aiello, Terry Crews, Lauren Cohan, Elizabeth Henstridge, Cary Elwes, Ryan Kwanten, David O’Hara and Omari Hardwick.. The film follows a group of very different people connected by a self-help book written by a reclusive football coach whose lives intertwine and eventually collide. Rebekah Chaney and Cassian Elwes (Lee Daniels’ The Butler, The Paperboy) are producing the Seraphim Films and Paradox Entertainment production.
