La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for James Cameron’s 1997 classic Titanic starring Leonardo Di Caprio & Kate Winslet. The 4-CD set features the remastered and expanded original score, including previously unreleased music and alternate cues, from the movie composed by James Horner (Braveheart, Avatar, A Beautiful Mind, Aliens) who received two Academy Awards for work on the drama. The 20th Anniversary Edition is limited to 5000 copies and will be available to order on the label’s website this coming Tuesday. 21st Century Symphony Orchestra to Perform James Horner’s ‘Titanic Live’
The 21st Century Symphony Orchestra has announced a concert featuring the performance of the Academy Award-winning original score for James Cameron’s epic historical drama Titanic performed live to projection. James Horner has composed the music for the film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet and received his first two Oscars for both his score and the original song My Heart Will Go On. The music will be performed by the 21st Century Symphony Orchestra and the Boys Choir Lucerne under the baton of Ludwig Wicki. Three concerts will be held on three consecutive days on March 13, 14 & 15, 2015 at the KKL Luzern Concert Hall in Lucerne, Switzerland.As previously announced, Titanic Live will also be performed on April 27, 2015 at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
James Horner to Conduct World Premiere ‘Titanic’ Live Concert
James Horner will be conducting his music for the Academy Award-winning drama Titanic directed by James Cameron and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet at a live concert on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Royal Albert Hall in London. The composer who received his first two Oscars for both his score and the end credits song My Heart Will Go On in 1998 will conduct a 90-piece orchestra, choir and Celtic musicians whilst the film is projected on the big screen in high definition. Horner previously conducted selections of his music from the film at the world premiere of the 3D re-release in 2012 in London.

CNN has published a new video interview with composer James Horner about his music for James Camerson’s Titanic. The video feature includes footage from the 1997 scoring sessions for the bestselling soundtrack. Two movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the comedy American Reunion directed by Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg and starring Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Alyson Hannigan, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Chris Klein, Eugene Levy, Tara Reid, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Jennifer Coolidge and Mena Suvari. The film’s score is written by Lyle Workman (The 40-Year Old Virgin, Superbad). Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack album featuring two tracks from the composer’s score, as well as the film’s songs by artists including Good Charlotte, Spice Girls, Boyz II Men and Montell Jordan. James Horner Attends ‘Titanic 3D’ Premiere
Last night, James Horner attended the world premiere of James Cameron’s Titanic 3D at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Before the movie started, the composer conducted an orchestral 20-minute suite from his Academy Award-winning score from the film. ‘Titanic’ Collector’s Anniversary Soundtrack Edition Details
Sony Music is set to re-release the best-selling soundtrack for James Cameron’s Titanic to coincide with the 3D release of the film. The album includes the original music by James Horner who received his first two Academy Awards for his work on the film, including both the score and the Celine Dion-performed song My Heart Will Go On. The reissue will be released on March 27, 2012 and can be pre-ordered on Amazon. In addition, the label is also releasing a 4-disc collector’s edition, which includes the newly-remastered version of the original soundtrack, the album Back to Titanic, as well as a previously unreleased disc of period music recorded for the movie by I Salonisti – the five-piece quintet that appears in the film and a new compilation of songs from the early 1900s entitled Popular Music From The Titanic Era. The set is also available for pre-order on Amazon.
Jonathan Goldsmith to Score ‘Titanic’ Mini-Series
Jonathan Goldsmith has been hired to score the upcoming TV mini-series Titanic. The project is directed by Jon Jones (Northanger Abbey, Going Postal) and written by Academy Award winner Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park, The Tourist, The Young Victoria). The production stars Ben Bishop, Linus Roache, Geraldine Somerville, Toby Jones, Glen Blackhall, Ruth Bradley, Noah Reed, David Eisner, Celia Imrie and Linda Kash. It has been reported that the four-part series will focus on different characters ranging from steerage passengers to upper class guests. Each point of view will culminate in a cliff-hanger as the ship begins to flounder, building to an explosive conclusion which draws together each of the stories.
