Johnny Jewel (Bronson, Lost River, Don’t Come Back from the Moon, Holly, Those Who Kill) has been hired to score the upcoming indie supernatural thriller Pathetic Fallacy. The film is directed by Adam Egypt Mortimer (Daniel Isn’t Real, Archenemy) and stars Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, Jessica Rothe, Travis Fimmel and Natasha Lyonne. Cudi is also contributing original songs to the movie, which follows a young widower who travels to a new-age mountain town in search of cosmic answers, but instead finds an outlandish murderer and a forest of demonic spirits who offer a horrific bargain: the power to cheat death at a nightmarish cost.

Johnny Jewel to Score Liv Forsythe’s ‘Pretty Boy Delaney’
Johnny Jewel (Bronson, Lost River, Holly, Don’t Come Back from the Moon, Those Who Kill) is set to score the upcoming indie drama Pretty Boy Delaney. The film is directed by Liv Forsythe and stars Jamie Bacon, Brandon Mychal Smith, Monroe Cline and James Oliver Wheatley. The movie follows a 26-year-old former boxing prodigy battling a relentless fentanyl addiction on the streets of Skid Row as he encounters a compassionate outreach worker and a boxing coach and is offered one last fight.
‘Holly’ Soundtrack Album Details
Italians Do It Better will release the official soundtrack album for the Belgian/Dutch drama Holly. The album features the film’s original score composed by Johnny Jewel (Bronson, Lost River, Don’t Come Back from the Moon, Those Who Kill). Also included is Desire’s cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’ The Power of Love. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 13 and will be available to stream/download here. Holly is written and directed by Fien Troch and stars Cathalina Geeraerts, Felix Heremans, Greet Verstraete, Els Deceukelier, Serdi Faki Alici and Maya Louisa Sterkendries.

Two new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Opening in most theaters is the mystery thriller Glass written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan and starring James McAvoy, Bruce Willis, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sarah Paulson, Samuel L. Jackson, Spencer Treat Clark and Charlayne Woodard. The film’s original music is composed by West Dylan Thordson (Split, Joy, 3 Generations). Already playing in theaters nationwide since this past Wednesday is the Japanese anime movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly directed by Tatsuya Nagamine and written by Akira Toriyama. Norihito Sumitomo (Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods & Resurrection ‘F’) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score has been released in Japan. Daichi Miura has contributed the film’s theme song Blizzard. The movie is being released in the U.S. by FUNimation.

Italians Do It Better will release a soundtrack album for the indie drama Don’t Come Back from the Moon. The album features the film’s original music composed by Johnny Jewel (Bronson, Lost River, Those Who Kill), as well as tracks by his bands Chromatics, Glass Candy and Symmetry. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 11 and will be available to download on Amazon. A vinyl edition is also in the works. Don’t Come Back from the Moon is co-written and directed by Bruce Thierry Cheung and stars James Franco, Rashida Jones, Jeffrey Wahlberg, Alyssa Elle Steinacker, Robert Scott Crane, Cheyenne Haynes, Hale Lytle, Zackary Arthur and Jeremiah Noe.
Johnny Jewel Scoring ‘Don’t Come Back from the Moon’
Johnny Jewel has composed the original music for the upcoming indie drama Don’t Come Back from the Moon. The film marks the feature directorial debut of cinematographer Bruce Thierry Cheung (The Adderall Diaries, In Dubious Battle) and stars Jeffrey Wahlberg, Zackary Arthur, Alyssa Elle Steinacker, Cheyenne Haynes, James Franco and Rashida Jones. The movie revolves around a group of fathers in a small California desert town who abandon their children one by one leaving behind a wake of anger and crime as their sons and daughters come of age. Cheung also wrote the screenplay based on the 2005 novel by Dean Bakopoulos.

The movie explores three troubled teenagers’ relationships both with each other and the adult world around them. Troch has also written the screenplay with Nico Leunen who served as the editor on Ryan Gosling’s Lost River, which Jewel also scored.

Also included is the movie’s love theme by Jewel’s band Chromatics, as well as tracks by Glass Candy, Larry Clinton, Desire, Sunset Four & more. The soundtrack is now available on iTunes.
