Johnny Jewel (Bronson, Lost River, Don’t Come Back from the Moon, Holly, Those Who Kill) has been hired to score the upcoming indie supernatural thriller Pathetic Fallacy. The film is directed by Adam Egypt Mortimer (Daniel Isn’t Real, Archenemy) and stars Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, Jessica Rothe, Travis Fimmel and Natasha Lyonne. Cudi is also contributing original songs to the movie, which follows a young widower who travels to a new-age mountain town in search of cosmic answers, but instead finds an outlandish murderer and a forest of demonic spirits who offer a horrific bargain: the power to cheat death at a nightmarish cost. Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man and the Wasp, Transformers One) wrote the screenplay. Steven Schneider (The Long Walk, Hokum) is producing the project for Room 101, alongside K. Asher Levin (Slayers) and Ronnie Exley for Rabbits Black, Karina Manashil (Entergalactic) for Mad Solar, Chris Wilkinson for Hadron, Aria Moffly and Ashleigh Snead (Shelby Oaks, Old Man). No word yet on a release or premiere date for Pathetic Fallacy. (Deadline)
