Brian Tyler & Tony Morales to Score CBS’ ‘Scorpion’
Brian Tyler and Tony Morales are scoring the new CBS drama Scorpion. The show is created by Nick Santora (Prison Break, Breakout Kings) and stars Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Robert Patrick, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Jadyn Wong and Ari Stidham. The series follows an eccentric genius and his team of brilliant misfits who comprise the last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats of the modern age. Santora is also executive producing the CBS Television Studios production with Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Alias), Nicholas Wootton (NYPD Blue, Chuck), Heather Kadin (Sleepy Hollow) Scooter Braun (Justin Bieber’s Believe) and Walter O’Brien. Justin Lin has directed the pilot episode and is also executive producing the project. The director has previously collaborated with Tyler on such films as Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Finishing the Game and Annapolis.

Premiering tonight on TNT is the action drama The Last Ship created by Hank Steinberg & Steven Kane and starring Eric Dane, Rhona Mitra, Adam Baldwin and Tracy Middendorf. Steve Jablonsky (Transformers, Ender’s Game, Gangster Squad) has composed the main theme and Nathan Whitehead (The Purge) is scoring the show. The show’s original music is composed by Murray Gold (Doctor Who). Tony Morales Scoring Lifetime’s ‘Outlaw Prophet: Warren Jeffs’
Tony Morales is composing the score for the upcoming Lifetime original movie Outlaw Prophet: Warren Jeffs. The film is directed by Gabriel Range (Death of a President) and stars Tony Goldwyn, Martin Landau, Molly Parker and Joey King. The movie tells the story of the fundamentalist Mormon leader who spent more than a year on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List for unlawful flight on charges related to his alleged arrangement of illegal marriages involving underage girls. Range also co-wrote the teleplay with Art Monterastelli (The Hunted), Steve Kornacki (Boardwalk Empire), Alyson Evans and Bryce Kass. Craig Zadan & Neil Meron (Hairspray, The Bucket List, Footloose) are executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Judith Verno (Lizzie Borden Took An Ax).
‘In Your Eyes’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie sci-fi romance In Your Eyes. The album features the original song Crumblin’ written by the film’s screenwriter Joss Whedon and performed by Noah Maffit & Jessica Freedman. Also included are songs by Santigold, Iron & Wine, Opus Orange and Twinbed, as well as a track from the film’s score composed by Tony Morales. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the thriller Non-Stop directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and starring Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore, Anson Mount, Michellle Dockery, Scott McNairy, Lupita Nyong’o and Corey Stoll. The film’s original music is composed by John Ottman (X2, The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) who previously scored the director’s features Unknown, Orphan and House of Wax. Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score digitally earlier this week and a CD version will be coming out on March 4. Also opening wide is the biblical drama Son of God produced by Mark Burnett & Roma Downey and starring Diogo Morgado, Greg Hicks, Adrian Schiller, Darwin Shaw, Sebastian Knapp, Joe Wredden, Simon Kunz and Paul Marc Davis. Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe who also scored the mini-series The Bible, which the film is based on, have composed the movie’s original music. Republic Records has released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by Cee Lo Green, OneRepublic, Steven Stern & George Krikes and Hillsong United. ‘The Bag Man’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the thriller The Bag Man. The album features the film’s original music composed by Tony Morales (Hatfields & McCoys, Enemies Closer) & Edward Rogers (Warehouse 13, NYPD Blue). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 4, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. The Bag Man is directed by David Grovic and stars John Cusack, Robert De Niro, Rebecca Da Costa and Crispin Glover. The movie follows a tough guy who has been summoned by a legendary crime boss to a remote location for unknown reasons along with a host of shady characters. The thriller will be released in select theaters and on VOD this Friday, February 28 by Cinedigm.
‘Enemies Closer’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the action thriller Enemies Closer. The album features the film’s original music composed by Tony Morales (Hatfield & McCoys, The Bag Man). Enemies Closer is directed by Peter Hyams (Outland, End of Days, The Relic) and starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Orlando Jones and Tom Everett Scott. The movie follows a forest ranger and former Navy SEAL who is plunged into survival mode after a major shipment of drugs goes missing on the US-Canadian border and he is forced to help retrieve the downed package. The thriller was released in select theaters last month and will be coming out on Blu-ray and DVD on March 11.

The only movie opening in wide release this weekend is the action thriller I, Frankenstein written and directed by Stuart Beattie and starring Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto and Jai Courtney. The film’s original score is composed by Johnny Klimek and Reinhold Heil (Cloud Atlas, One Hour Photo). Lisa Gerrard has composed additional music.
