Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the action thriller The Equalizer 3 directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Denzel Washington, Dakota Fanning, Eugenio Mastrandrea and David Denman. The film’s original music is composed by Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Emancipation, The Affair, Wonder, Ray Donovan, The Good Shepherd). Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening in around 400 theaters today is the thriller The Good Mother directed by Miles Joris-Peyrafitte (Dreamland, As You Are) and starring Hilary Swank, Olivia Cooke, Dilone, Jack Reynor and Hopper Penn. Joris-Peyrafitte has also composed the film’s original music with Erick Slick (of the rock band Dr. Dog). No soundtrack album has been announced. ‘Ernest and Celestine: A Trip to Gibberitia’ Soundtrack Album Released

22D Music has released a soundtrack album for the French animated feature Ernest and Celestine: A Trip to Gibberitia (Ernest et Célestine: Le voyage en Charabie). The album features the film’s original music composed by Vincent Courtois who previously scored the Academy Award-nominated 2012 original movie. Also included is the sequel’s theme song Qu’est-ce qu’on fait de l’amour? co-written (with Courtois & Guillaume le Hénaff) and performed by Pomme (listen to the full track below). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. Ernest and Celestine: A Trip to Gibberitia is directed by Julien Chheng & Jean-Christophe Roger and follows the title characters as they are traveling back to Ernest’s home country to fix his broken violin and, upon arriving, discover that all forms of music have been banned there for many years.

Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the thriller Non-Stop directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and starring Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore, Anson Mount, Michellle Dockery, Scott McNairy, Lupita Nyong’o and Corey Stoll. The film’s original music is composed by John Ottman (X2, The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) who previously scored the director’s features Unknown, Orphan and House of Wax. Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score digitally earlier this week and a CD version will be coming out on March 4. Also opening wide is the biblical drama Son of God produced by Mark Burnett & Roma Downey and starring Diogo Morgado, Greg Hicks, Adrian Schiller, Darwin Shaw, Sebastian Knapp, Joe Wredden, Simon Kunz and Paul Marc Davis. Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe who also scored the mini-series The Bible, which the film is based on, have composed the movie’s original music. Republic Records has released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by Cee Lo Green, OneRepublic, Steven Stern & George Krikes and Hillsong United. ‘Ernest & Celestine’ Soundtrack Details

Milan Records will release the soundtrack album for the Academy Award-nominated animated feature Ernest & Celestine in the U.S. The album features the film’s original score composed by Vincent Courtois, as well as the songs from the movie. The soundtrack will be released on March 11, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Ernest & Celestine is directed by Benjamin Renner, Vincent Patar & Stéphane Aubier and features the voice talent of Forest Whitaker, Mackenzie Foy, Lauren Bacall, William H. Macy, Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman and Jeffrey Wright. The movie centers on an unlikely friendship between a bohemian bear, Ernest, and a young mouse named Celestine. The film is one of the five nominees in the Best Animated Feature category at the Oscars and will be released in the U.S. on February 28 by GKids.
