Premiering tonight in the U.S. is the mini-series Les Miserables developed by Andrew Davies based on Victor Hugo’s novel and starring Dominic West, David Oyelowo, Lily Collins, Adeel Akhtar, Olivia Colman, Ellie Bamber, Josh O’Connor and Erin Kellyman. The show’s original music is composed by John Murphy (28 Days Later, Sunshine, Miami Vice, Snatch). Premiering tomorrow, April 15 is the Netflix original series No Good Nick created by David H. Steinberg & Keetgi Kogan and starring Melissa Joan Hart, Sean Astin, Siena Agudong, Kalama Epstein and Lauren Lindsey. Chris Alan Lee (Younger, Heathers, Uncle Buck) has composed the original music for the show’s first season. Soundtrack Album for Lifetime’s ‘The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe’ to Be Released

Strong Place Music will release a soundtrack album for the Lifetime mini-series The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe. The album features the film’s original music composed by David Carbonara (Mad Men, The Guru, Spanking the Monkey, Are You Here, The Romanoffs). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, March 15 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe is directed by Laurie Collyer and stars Kelli Garner, Susan Sarandon, Emily Watson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Eva Amurri Martino. The 2-parter explores Monroe’s complicated relationships with her mother, foster mother and legal guardian, her struggles with mental illness and her ties with the Kennedys.

Premiering tonight is the National Geographic original series Valley of the Boom created by Matthew Carnahan and starring Bradley Whitford, Steve Zahn, Lamorne Morris, John Karna, Dakota Shapiro and Oliver Cooper. The show’s original music is composed by Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein (Stranger Things, Butterfly, Native Son). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from the project (click here for the full album details), as well as a separate album featuring a selections of songs from the series (click here for more information).

Premiering tomorrow, January 14, is the Fox drama The Passage developed by Liz Heldens based on Justin Cronin’s book series and starring Saniyya Sidney, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Caroline Chikezie, Henry Ian Cusick, Vincent Piazza and Emmanuelle Chriqui. Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, Star Trek: Discovery, The Night Of) and Jordan Gagne (The Rookie, Waco) are composing the show’s original music. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album for the Lifetime original movie Conrad & Michelle: If Words Could Kill. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jonas Struck (Borg vs McEnroe, Idealisten, Sex, Drugs & Taxation). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Conrad & Michelle: If Words Could Kill is directed by Stephen Tolkin and stars Bella Thorne and Austin P. Mckenzie. The movie tells the true story of Conrad Roy who was encouraged to commit suicide via text messages from his girlfriend, Michelle Carter.

Lisbeth Scott to Score Lifetime’s ‘Somebody’s Someone: The Regina Louise Story’

Lisbeth Scott has signed on to score the upcoming Lifetime original movie Somebody’s Someone: The Regina Louise Story. The film is directed by Janice Cooke and stars Angela Fairley, Ginnifer Goodwin, Monique Coleman, Sherri Saum and Kim Hawthorne. The drama is based on a memoir about Regina Louise, a young African-American girl who navigated over 30 foster homes and psychiatric facilities before age 18, and the one woman who believed in her. Camille Thomasson wrote the teleplay. Goodwin is also executive producing the project with Howard Braunstein (The Informant!) and Yvonne Chotzen (The Rosa Parks Story).

Mario Grigorov is scoring the upcoming Lifetime original movie Escaping the Madhouse: The Nellie Bly Story. The film is directed by Karen Moncrieff (The Dead Girl, The Trials of Cate McCall) and stars Christina Ricci, Judith Light and Josh Bowman. The movie follows 19th century pioneering journalist, Elizabeth Cochran Seaman, who published under the name of Nellie Bly, on a mission to expose the deplorable conditions and mistreatment of patients at the notorious Women’s Lunatic Asylum.
