Position Music has released a soundtrack album for the comedy drama The Bachelors. The album features the film’s original music composed by Joel P West (Short Term 12, Grandma, The Glass Castle, Band of Robbers). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Bachelors is written and directed by Kurt Voelker and stars J.K. Simmons, Josh Wiggins, Julie Delpy and Odeya Rush. The movie centers on a mourning father who moves across the country with his teenage son for a private school teaching job, after the early death of his wife.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the survival drama Adrift directed by Baltasar Kormákur and starring Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin. The film’s original music is composed by Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, Patrick Melrose, Gunpowder, The Current War). Opening in mos theater is the disaster movie Geostorm directed by Dean Devlin and starring Gerard Butler, Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish, Daniel Wu, Ed Harris and Andy Garcia. The album features the film’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Genius, Home, Terminator Genisys, Megamind). Expected to top the weekend box office is the horror movie Annabelle: Creation directed by David Sandberg and starring Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Lulu Wilson, Philippa Anne Coulthard, Grace Fulton, Lou Lou Safran, Samara Lee, Tayler Buck, Anthony LaPaglia and Miranda Otto. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (Hidden Figures, Lights Out, It, A Cure for Wellness, Bitter Harvest). Also opening wide is the animated feature The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature directed by Cal Brunker and featuring the voices of Will Arnett, Katherine Heigl, Maya Rudolph, Bobby Moynihan, Gabriel Iglesias, Jeff Dunham, Bobby Cannavale, Isabel Moner, Sebastian Maniscalo and Jackie Chan. ‘The Glass Castle’ Soundtrack Announced
Milan Records has announced a soundtrack album for Destin Daniel Cretton’s drama The Glass Castle. The album features the film’s original score composed by Joel P West (Grandma, I Am Not a Hipster) who previously scored Cretton’s last feature Short Term 12. Also included is the original song Summer Storm written and performed by West (check out a making-of video of the track after the jump) and a cover of Don’t Fence Me In performed by Darla Hawn. The soundtrack will be released on August 11, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Glass Castle is co-written and directed by Cretton and stars Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson, Naomi Watts, Max Greenfield, Sarah Snook and Robin Bartlett.
‘Youth in Oregon’ Soundtrack Released

Youth in Oregon is directed by Joel David Moore and stars Frank Langella, Billy Crudup, Christina Applegate, Mary Kay Place, Josh Lucas, Nicola Peltz and Alex Shaffer. The movie follows a man who is tasked with driving his 80-year-old father-in-law cross country to be legally euthanized in Oregon.

Opening in most theaters is the directed by F. Javier Gutierrez and starring Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan and Vincent D’Onofrio. The film’s original music is composed by Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Eddie the Eagle). Hans Zimmer who scored the original The Ring movie serves as the project’s executive music producer. According to the film’s credits, a soundtrack album will be released by Paramount Music, but no announcement has been made. Joel P. West Scoring ‘The Bachelors’
Joel P. West is scoring the upcoming comedy drama The Bachelors. The film is written and directed by Kurt Voelker and stars J.K. Simmons, Julie Delpy, Josh Wiggins and Odeya Rush. The movie revolves around a widower and his 17-year-old son who move from a small northern California town to Los Angeles, where their lives are transformed by a wry old friend and two extraordinary women. Matthew Baer (Unbroken, City by the Sea, Maggie) and George Parra (The Squeeze) are producing the project with Joe McKelheer (The Adderall Diaries) and Bill Kiely for Windowseat Entertainment.
Joel P. West to Score Destin Daniel Cretton’s ‘The Glass Castle’
Joel P. West is reteaming with director Destin Daniel Cretton on the upcoming comedy drama The Glass Castle. The film stars Brie Larson, Woody Harrelson, Naomi Watts, Max Greenfield and Sarah Snook. The movie is based on Jeannette Walls’ memoir about a young girl who comes of age in a dysfunctional family of nonconformist nomads. Cretton has also written the screenplay with Andrew Lanham (The Shack) and Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Hunter, UnReal). Gil Netter (Life of Pi, The Blind Side, Marley & Me) is producing the project with Erik Feig (Step Up series, Wrong Turn).

Joel P. West has been hired to score the upcoming indie comedy Youth in Oregon. The film is directed by Joel David Moore (Spiral) and stars Frank Langella, Billy Crudup, Christina Applegate, Mary Kay Place, Josh Lucas, Nicola Peltz and Alex Shaffer. The movie follows a man who is tasked with driving his embittered 80-year-old father-in-law cross country to be legally euthanized in Oregon, while along the way helping him rediscover a reason for living. Andrew Eisen has written the screenplay. Stefan Nowicki, Joey Carey & Morgan White (Jack of the Red Hearts, Dark Was the Night) are producing the project.
