Netflix Music will release the official soundtrack album for the streamer’s new limited series Zero Day. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery, Ripley, Star Trek: Picard, The Night Of, The Umbrella Academy, Legion, For All Mankind). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 20 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon or any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s title track below. Zero Day is created by Eric Newman, Noah Oppenheim & Michael S. Schmidt and stars Robert De Niro, Angela Bassett, Jesse Plemons, Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, Matthew Modine, Joan Allen, Bill Camp, Dan Stevens, Clark Gregg and Gaby Hoffmann. The 6-part thriller takes place after a cyberattack sabotages transportation and power infrastructure across the U.S. and follows the former U.S. President as he is called out of retirement to find the culprit.

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Paramount+ original movie event Star Trek: Section 31. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, Fargo, Ripley, The Night Of, Legion, The Man Who Fell to Earth, For All Mankind, The Umbrella Academy). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 14 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Star Trek: Section 31 is written by Craig Sweeny, directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi and stars Michelle Yeoh, Omari Hardwick, Sam Richardson, Kacey Rohl, Robert Kazinsky, James Hiroyuki Liao, Sven Ruygrok and Humberly Gonzalez. The movie follows Emperor Philippa Georgiou as she joins a secret division of Starfleet and – tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets – must also face the sins of her past.

Jeff Russo to Score Paramount+’s ‘Star Trek: Starfleet Academy’
Jeff Russo (Fargo, Ridley, Legion, The Night Of, The Umbrella Academy, For All Mankind, The Man Who Feel to Earth) has been hired to score the upcoming Paramount+ original series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. The show stars Kerrice Brooks, Bella Shepard, George Hawkins, Karim Diané, Zoë Steiner, Tig Notaro, Robert Picardo, as well as Holly Hunter who plays the captain and chancellor of Starfleet Academy. Oded Fehr, Mary Wiseman, Gina Yashere, Paul Giamatti and Tatiana Maslany will appear as guest stars in the sci-fi drama, which follows the adventures of a new class of Starfleet cadets as they come of age in one of the most legendary places in the galaxy.

Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi/horror movie Alien: Romulus directed by Fede Alvarez and starring Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, Shazam!, Twisters, Hidden Figures, The Flash, The Invisible Man). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today and Mutant will release a vinyl edition in the coming months. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, August 9 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The label has previously released two albums featuring the composers’ score from Season 1 and Season 2. The movie follows Georgiou as she joins a secret division of Starfleet and is taksed with protecting the United Federation of Planets, while also facing the sins of her past.
