Daniel Hart is set to reteam with director David Lowery on the upcoming thriller Old Man and the Gun. The film is written and directed by Lowery and stars Robert Redford, Casey Affleck, Sissy Spacek, Danny Glover, Tom Waits and Tika Sumpter. The movie is based on a short story by David Grann and revolves around an elderly bank robber who escaped from San Quentin at the age of 70 and pulled off an unprecedented string of heists that confounded authorities. James D. Stern (Looper) is producing the project for Endgame Entertainment, Dawn Ostroff and Jeremy Steckler (Granite Mountain Hotshots) for Condé Nast Entertainment, Anthony Mastromauro (Beer League) for Identity Films, Toby Halbrooks for Sailor Bear and James M. Johnston and Bill Holderman (A Walk in the Woods).

‘A Ghost Story’ Soundtrack Details
Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for David Lowery’s indie drama A Ghost Story. The album features the film’s original music composed by Daniel Hart (Tumbledown, Comet, The Exorcist) who previously scored the director’s Ain’t Them Bodies Saints and Pete’s Dragon. The soundtrack will be released on July 7, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A Ghost Story is written and directed by Lowery and stars Casey Affleck, Rooney Mara, Will Oldham, Sonia Acevedo, Rob Zabrecky and Liz Franke. The movie revolves around a recently deceased, white-sheeted ghost who returns to his suburban home to try and reconnect with his bereft wife.

Hart has previously scored Lowery’s previous three features, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, St. Nick and this year’s Pete’s Dragon.

Premiering tomorrow, September 19, is the new NBC comedy The Good Place created by Michael Schur (Parks and Recreation) and starring Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, Jameela Jamil, William Jackson Harper, Manny Jacinto and D’Arcy Carden. The show’s original music is composed by David Schwartz (Arrested Development, Northern Exposure, Reaper, Lady Dynamite). Also premiering tomorrow is the CBS comedy Kevin Can Wait created by Bruce Helford, Rock Reuben & Kevin James and starring James himself, Erinn Hayes, Taylor Spreitler, Ryan Cartwright, Mary-Charles Jones, James DiGiacomo, Leonard Earl Howze, Gary Valentine and Lenny Venito. Raney Shockne (The To Do List, Anger Management, Queen of the South) is composing the show’s original music. Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure Pete’s Dragon directed by David Lowery and starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Oakes Fegley, Wes Bentley, Karl Urban, Oona Laurence and Robert Redford. The film’s original music is composed by Daniel Hart (Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, Comet, Tumbleweed). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie by Bonnie “Prince” Billy, The Lumineers, Lindsey Stirling feat. Also opening wide is the animated comedy Sausage Party directed by Conrad Vernon & Greg Tiernan and starring Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd and Nick Kroll. Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin) and Christopher Lennertz (Ride Along, Horrible Bosses) have composed the film’s original score. Daniel Hart to Score Fox’s ‘The Exorcist’ TV Series
Daniel Hart has been tapped to score the upcoming Fox drama The Exorcist. The show is created by Jeremy Slater (Fantastic Four, The Lazarus Effect) and stars Alfonso Herrera, Ben Daniels, Geena Davis, Brianne Howey, Hannah Kasulka and Kurt Egyiawa. The series is based on William Peter Blatty’s novel of the same title, which inspired William Friedkin’s Academy Award-winning 1973 feature and follows two very different priests tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession. Slater is also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television and Morgan Creek production with Rolin Jones, James & David Robinson (The Good Shepherd, Dream House, Exorcist: The Beginning), Barbara Wall and Roy Lee (The Lego Movie, The Strangers), as well as Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler) who also directed the pilot episode.

Daniel Hart has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming family adventure Pete’s Dragon and is currently recording his score at AIR Studios in London. The film is directed by David Lowery and stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Oakes Fegley, Wes Bentley, Karl Urban, Oona Laurence and Robert Redford. The movie is based on the 1977 classic of the same title and tells the story of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliott, who just so happens to be a dragon.. Lowery also co-wrote the screenplay with Toby Halbrooks. Jim Whitaker (The Odd Life of Timothy Green, The Finest Hours) is producing the project. Barrie Osborne (The Lord of the Rings) serves as an executive producer.
