Christophe Beck and Jake Monaco have composed the score for the upcoming action comedy Let’s Be Cops. The film is directed by Luke Greenfield (The Girl Next Door, Something Borrowed) and stars Damon Wayans Jr., Jake Johnson, Rob Riggle, Nina Dobrev, James D’Arcy and Andy Garcia. The movie follows two struggling pals who dress as police officers for a costume party and get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives. Greenfield has also co-written the screenplay with Nick Thomas and is producing the project with Simon Kinberg (X-Men: First Class, Elysium).

‘Muppets Most Wanted’ Score Album Details
Walt Disney Records and Intrada Records will release a score album for Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted. The album features the film’s original score composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Hangover, Red) who previously scored 2011’s The Muppets reboot. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 15, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A CD version is expected to be released by Intrada Records on the same date. A separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the film and a suite from Beck’s score has previously been released. Muppets Most Wanted directed by James Bobin and stars Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey, as well as the Muppets characters including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and The Great Gonzo. The sequel opened last month and is now playing in theaters nationwide.
Christophe Beck to Score ‘Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day’
Christophe Beck has signed on to score the upcoming family comedy Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. The movie is directed by Miguel Arteta (The Good Girl, Youth in Revolt) and stars Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner, Dylan Minnette, Ed Oxenbould, Megan Mulally, Jennifer Coolidge and Bella Thorne. The movie is based on the 1972 illustrated children’s classic by Judith Viorst and follows a boy who has a very horrible day and finds out that other people can have them too. Rob Lieber has written the screenplay. Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum, Real Steel) is producing the 21 Laps Entertainment production with Dan Levine, alongside Lisa Henson, CEO of the Jim Henson Company.

Expected to top the weekend box office is the film adaptation of the young adult novel Divergent directed by Neil Burger and starring Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet, Aaron Eckhart, Miles Teller, Zoe Kravitz, Ansel Elgort, Ray Stevenson, Jai Courtney, Ashley Judd and Maggie Q. Interscope Records has released a soundtrack for the film featuring the film’s songs, including tracks by by Ellie Goulding, Zedd, Pia Mia feat. Chance The Rapper. M83, Snow Patrol and Skrillex. Already in theaters since Wednesday is the sci-fi action movie RoboCop directed by José Padilha and starring Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams and Samuel L. Jackson. Pedro Bromfman who previously scored Padilha’s Elite Squad movies has composed the film’s original score. The film’s music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception) and Rupert Gregson-Williams (Bee Movie, Click). ‘Charlie Countryman’ Soundtrack Released
Psychedelic Records has released a soundtrack album for the indie romantic drama Charlie Countryman. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Hangover, The Muppets) and Dead Mono. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded after the jump. Charlie Countryman is directed by Fredrik Bond and stars Shia LaBeouf, Evan Rachel Wood, Mads Mikkelsen, Melissa Leo and Rupert Grint. The film follows a man who falls for a Romanian beauty whose unreachable heart has its origins in her violent, charismatic ex. The drama premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival and was released in select theaters last fall by Millennium Entertainment. The movie is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.
Christophe Beck, Robert Lopez & Kristen Anderson-Lopez Honored With Annie Award
Composer Christophe Beck and songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez were honored with an Annie Award in the Outstanding Achievement, Music in an Animated Feature Production category for the score and songs from Disney’s hit animated film Frozen. Beck accepted the award in person at the ceremony at UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles. The other contenders in the category were Alan Silvestri for The Croods, Henry Jackman for Turbo, Mark Mothersbaugh for Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, Heitor Pereira & Pharrell Williams for Despicable Me 2, Danny Elfman for Epic, Randy Newman for Monsters University and Dominic Lewis for Free Birds.
‘Endless Love’ Soundtrack Announced
Warner Bros. Records will release a soundtrack album for the romantic drama Endless Love. The album features the songs from the film, including the original track Don’t Find Another Love performed by Tegan and Sara. Other artists featured on the soundtrack include NONONO, The Bird and The Bee featuring Matt Berninger, Echosmith, Franz Ferdinand and Tanlines. Also featured is a suite from the movie’s original score composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Muppets, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). The soundtrack will be released on February 11, 2014. Endless Love is directed by Shana Feste and stars Alex Pettyfer, Gabriella Wilde, Bruce Greenwood, Rhys Wakefield, Dayo Okeniyi, Robert Patrick, Emma Rigby and Joely Richardson.

The album features the film’s original songs written by Bret McKenzie performed by the movie’s cast, as well as a number of demos. Also included is a suite from the film’s original score composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, The Hangover) who previously scored 2011’s original movie. The soundtrack will be released on March 18, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Muppets Most Wanted is directed by James Bobin and stars the Muppets characters including Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, The Great Gonzo, as well as Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey. The movie takes the entire Muppets gang on a global tour as they find themselves unwittingly entangled in an international crime caper.
Christophe Beck Scoring Doug Liman’s ‘Edge of Tomorrow’
Christophe Beck has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming sci-fi action thriller Edge of Tomorrow. The movie is directed by Doug Liman and stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Bill Paxton, Charlotte Riley, Kick Gurry, Dragomir Mrsic, Jonas Armstrong and Franz Drameh. The film is based on Hiroshi Sakurazaka novel All You Need Is Kill and is set in the near future when an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault and follows an officer who finds himself reliving his last day over and over after being killed. Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher, The Usual Suspects) has written the screenplay with Jez Butterworth & John-Henry Butterworth (Fair Game). Erwin Stoff (Constantine), Tom Lassally (Stay), Jason Hoffs, Gregory Jacobs (Magic Mike) and Jeffrey Silver (TRON: Legacy) are producing the project.
