Director Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium) has announced that Stephen Barton (Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Titanfall, Apex Legends12 Monkeys, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Watch Dogs: Legion) is set to score the upcoming film adaptation of the video game series Gran Turismo. The racing movie starring David Harbour, Archie Madekwe & Orlando Bloom is based on a true story and follows a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won him a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional race-car driver. Premiering tonight is the PBS documentary The U.S. and the Holocaust directed by Ken Burns, Lynn Novick & Sarah Botstein about the rise of Hitler and Nazism in Germany in the context of global antisemitism and racism in the United States. In a Circle Records will release a soundtrack album featuring original music created for the film by artists including Kinan Azmeh, Shanir Blumenkranz, Mathias Kunzli, Dan Brantigan, Jason Moran, Michael Nicholas, Dana Lyn, Dave Nelson & others this coming Friday, September 23. Premiering on Wednesday, September 21, is Lucasfilm’s Disney+ original series Andor created by Tony Gilroy and starring Diego Luna, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Kyle Soller, Denise Gough and Fiona Shaw. The show’s original music is composed by Nicholas Britell (Succession, Moonlight, Cruella, The Big Short, If Beale Street Could Talk, Don’t Look Up, The Underground Railroad). Pierre Charles (Inventing Anna, White Coat Rebels) is scoring the new CBS drama East New York. The show is created by William Finkelstein (NYPD Blue, The Good Fight) & Mike Flynn and stars Amanda Warren, Jimmy Smits, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Richard Kind, Kevin Rankin, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Olivia Luccardi and Lavel Schley. The series revolves around a newly promoted deputy inspector of East New York, a working-class neighborhood at the eastern edge of Brooklyn, as she leads a diverse group of officers and detectives, some of whom are reluctant to deploy her creative methods. Lang Lang’s ‘The Disney Book’ Album Released

Deutsche Grammophon has released The Disney Book, a new album featuring classic Disney songs reimagined by Grammy Award-nominated pianist Lang Lang. Among the titles included are songs from Beauty and the Beast, Frozen, The Jungle Book, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, The Lion King, Mary Poppins and Aladdin. Lang’s collaborators featured on the release include Andrea Bocelli who performs the Italian version of Phil Collins’ You’ll Be in My Heart from Tarzan, Sebastián Yatra who performs the Lin Manuel-Miranda-penned Dos Oruguitas from Encanto and Jon Batiste who performs his song It’s All Right from Pixar’s Soul. The Disney Book is now available in two different version: the 14-track regular edition and a 28-track deluxe edition. The album features the songs from the show’s third season performed by cast members Joshua Bassett, Sofia Wylie, Matt Cornett, Adrian Lyles, Dara Reneé, Frankie Rodriguez, Joe Serafini & others. Silva Screen Records has announced a new soundtrack album for BBC series Doctor Who. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s thirteenth season (entitled Flux) composed by Segun Akinola (The Last Tree, Stephen, 9/11: Inside the President’s War Room). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 30, 2022 (visit Amazon to stream/download the album). A 3-CD version, which also includes a bonus disc featuring Akinola’s music from the 2021 New Year’s Day special Revolution of the Daleks, will be coming out on November 11. The label has previously released Akinola’s score from Season 11 & Season 12, as well as multiple soundtrack albums featuring Murray Gold’s music from the first ten seasons. Film Fest Gent and the World Soundtrack Academy have announced the second wave of nominees for the 2022 World Soundtrack Awards in the categories Discovery of the Year, Public Choice Award, Best Original Score for a Belgian Production and Sabam Award for Best Original Composition by a Young Composer. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album for the drama The Silent Twins. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marcin Macuk & Zuzanna Wrońska.
