The Newton Brothers (The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, Doctor Sleep, Life of Crime, Oculus, The Midnight Club) have recently been recording their music for the upcoming horror movie Five Nights at Freddy’s. The film is directed by Emma Tammi (The Wind) and stars Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Mary Stuart Masterson, Kat Conner Sterling, Piper Rubio and Matthew Lillard. The Blumhouse production is based on the video game series created by Scott Cawthon and follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, when he realizes the night shift won’t be so easy to make it through. The movie is set in the 1970s and tells the true story of Rose Dugdale, a young heiress who rebelled against her English aristocratic upbringing to volunteer with the Irish Republican Army. Walt Disney Records will release the first-ever soundtrack album for the 1998 Disney Channel original movie Halloweentown directed by Duwayne Dunham and starring Debbie Reynolds, Kimberly J. Madison Gate Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ original series The Afterparty. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into/Across the Spider-Verse, Steve Jobs, Enola Holmes, Ocean’s 8, Birds of Prey) and David Schweitzer (Emma, Our Great National Parks, Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King). Also included is cast members John Cho’s, Zoë Chao’s & Poppy Liu’s cover of Doris Day’s Sentimental Journey, the cover version of Hanson’s MMMBop from this week’s episode Isabel, as well as several tracks by Ed Mitchell & Steve Morrell.
