Maria Vertiz (Shaman, Uncle Trouble, Tu madre o la mía, With the Years That I Have Left, Evil Dress) has composed the original score for the upcoming shark thriller Above & Below. The film is directed by Jesse V. Johnson (The Debt Collector, Chief of Station) and stars Laura Marano and Antonio Banderas. The movie follows a group of friends who embark on a dream vacation of parties and diving, but their trip takes a terrifying turn when criminals attack them at sea. Tony Giordano (Robo-Dog, The Unbroken) wrote the screenplay. David Hillary (The Capture, Dirty), Mark Boot (AI Love You), Jamie R. Thompson (Silent Night, Deadly Night, 97 Minutes), Carmen Aguado (Reversion), Manu Vega and Frank Ariza (The Deal) are producing the project. Above & Below will be released in U.S. theaters on July 29, 2026 by Aura Entertainment.
