The show is written and directed by Jon Ronson and stars Matthew Perry, Tim Key and Kimberley Nixon. The ITV production tells the story of a nervous young man who attempts to become popular by copying a charismatic man who is throwing his dog in the air in front of a crowd. The comedy is part of the Playhouse series on Sky Arts and is produced by Runaway Fridge. The band has previously written original music for Todd Solondz’s 2011 indie Storytelling. imageMarcelo Zarvos will be reteaming with director Barry Levinson (Rain Man) on the upcoming drama The Humbling. The film is based on a novel by Philip Roth (The Human Stain) and stars Al Pacino, Dianne Wiest, Greta Gerwig, Kyra Sedgwick, Mandy Patinkin and Charles Rodin. The movie follows an aging actor who has an affair with a lesbian woman half his age at a secluded country house in Connecticut. Levinson and Pacino are also producing the project with Jason Sosnoff. Zarvos has previously collaborated with Levinson on his last two theatrical features What Just Happened and The Bay, as well as on the HBO original movie You Don’t Know Jack. walking-deadRepublic Records has announced a new soundtrack EP for the AMC hit series The Walking Dead. The release includes five new and previously unreleased songs inspired by and featured in the show, including tracks by Portugal. The Man, Ben Nichols, Sharon Van Etten, Lee DeWyze and A.C. Newman. The EP will be released on March 25, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack album for the show last spring. The Walking Dead based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and scored by Bear McCreary stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Melissa McBride, Emily Kinney, Danai Gurira, Chad Coleman and Sonequa Martin-Green. rob-the-mobLakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Raymond De Felitta’s crime drama Rob the Mob. The album features the film’s original music composed by Stephen Endelman (De-Lovely, Flirting with Disaster, Home of the Brave). The composer previously scored the feature Two Family House for the director who opted to edit the film in the composer’s Los Angeles studio. Endelman has also composed the end credits song Love and the Gun, which was recorded in English and Italian and is performed by New York jazz singer Tamela D’Amico. Also featured on the soundtrack are songs by Deee-Lite, Staple Singers and Wilson Pickett. The album will be released on March 18 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, The AvengersForrest Gump). The show is created by Lee Daniels (The Butler, Precious) and Danny Strong (Game Change, The Butler) and stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson The drama is set in the world of a hip hop-empire and follows a charismatic, savvy music superstar who is about to take his company, Empire Entertainment, public. Daniels and Strong are also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Entertainment production with Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, 24) and Francie Calfo. the-missing-pictureMilan Records will release the soundtrack album for the Academy Award-nominated documentary The Missing Picture in the U.S. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marc Marder. The soundtrack will be released on March 18, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Missing Picture is directed by Rithy Panh and follows his quest to create the missing images during the period when the Khmer Rouge ruled over Cambodia between 1975 and 1979. The Cambodian film premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, where it won the jury prize for best film in the Un Certain Regard sidebar. The movie was one of the five features nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category at this year’s Academy Awards and will be released in theaters on March 19 by Strand Releasing. The album features the film’s original score composed by Jim Williams who previously collaborated with the director on such films as Kill ListSightseers and Down Terrace. The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 24, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The movie is set in the 17th Century and follows a group of English Civil War soldiers who are captured by an alchemist and led into a vast mushroom field, where they fall victim to violent and nightmarish forces. henry-jackmanHenry Jackman is set to reunite with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg on the upcoming comedy The Interview. Rogen is also starring in film alongside James Franco and Lizzy Caplan. The movie centers on a talk show host and his producer who find themselves out of their depths when they participate in a plot to assassinate the North Korean prime minister. Rogen and Goldberg have also written the screenplay and are producing the project with James Weaver (Neighbors) for Point Grey Pictures. Jackman has previously collaborated with Rogen and Goldberg on their directorial debut This Is the End, which grossed over $100 Mio. domestically last summer.  Read the rest of this entry »
