The film is directed by Ryan Murphy (Glee, Nip/Tuck, Eat Pray Love) and stars Mark Ruffalo, Taylor Kitsch, Matt Bomer, Julia Roberts, Jim Parsons, Jonathan Groff, Alfred Molina, Joe Mantello, Denis O’Hare, Stephen Spinella and Corey Stoll. The movie is based on the Tony-winning play by Larry Kramer (Women in Love) and tells the story of the onset of the HIV-AIDS crisis in New York City in the early 1980s. Kramer has also written the screenplay and Murphy is executive producing the project with Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious), Dede Gardner (12 Years a Slave, World War Z) and Dante Di Loreto (American Horror Story, Glee). The album features the film’s original score composed by David Holmes (Ocean’s Eleven, Out of Sight, Haywire). Also included are the songs from the movie by such artists as Jonathan Clay, Joe D’Augustine, Townes Van Zandt, Buddy Stuart, The Kills, Richmond Fontaine, Justin Townes Earle and Little Accidents. imageJónsi & Alex have written the music for the indie coming-of-age drama The Wilderness of James. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Michael Johnson and stars Kodi Smit-McPhee, Virginia Madsen, Isabelle Fuhrman, Evan Ross and Danny DeVito. The movie follows a boy dealing with the absence of his father who begins to explore the wilderness of an intoxicating city. Through an infatuating girl and a charismatic stranger, he starts to open his eyes as he’s forced to deal with some hard truths. Johnson has also written the screenplay. Jonathan Schwartz (Like Crazy, Smashed) and Andrea Sperlig (Harsh Times) are producing the project for Super Crispy Enterainment. The show is written and directed by Jon Ronson and stars Matthew Perry, Tim Key and Kimberley Nixon. The ITV production tells the story of a nervous young man who attempts to become popular by copying a charismatic man who is throwing his dog in the air in front of a crowd. The comedy is part of the Playhouse series on Sky Arts and is produced by Runaway Fridge. The band has previously written original music for Todd Solondz’s 2011 indie Storytelling. imageMarcelo Zarvos will be reteaming with director Barry Levinson (Rain Man) on the upcoming drama The Humbling. The film is based on a novel by Philip Roth (The Human Stain) and stars Al Pacino, Dianne Wiest, Greta Gerwig, Kyra Sedgwick, Mandy Patinkin and Charles Rodin. The movie follows an aging actor who has an affair with a lesbian woman half his age at a secluded country house in Connecticut. Levinson and Pacino are also producing the project with Jason Sosnoff. Zarvos has previously collaborated with Levinson on his last two theatrical features What Just Happened and The Bay, as well as on the HBO original movie You Don’t Know Jack. The release includes five new and previously unreleased songs inspired by and featured in the show, including tracks by Portugal. The Man, Ben Nichols, Sharon Van Etten, Lee DeWyze and A.C. Newman. The EP will be released on March 25, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. rob-the-mobLakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Raymond De Felitta’s crime drama Rob the Mob. The album features the film’s original music composed by Stephen Endelman (De-Lovely, Flirting with Disaster, Home of the Brave). The composer previously scored the feature Two Family House for the director who opted to edit the film in the composer’s Los Angeles studio. Endelman has also composed the end credits song Love and the Gun, which was recorded in English and Italian and is performed by New York jazz singer Tamela D’Amico. Also featured on the soundtrack are songs by Deee-Lite, Staple Singers and Wilson Pickett. The album will be released on March 18 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The show is created by Lee Daniels (The Butler, Precious) and Danny Strong (Game Change, The Butler) and stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson The drama is set in the world of a hip hop-empire and follows a charismatic, savvy music superstar who is about to take his company, Empire Entertainment, public. Daniels and Strong are also executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television and Imagine Entertainment production with Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, 24) and Francie Calfo.
