The album features almost 2 hour of music from the original score of the show’s second season composed by Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) who received his first Emmy Award for the series’ main titles theme last year. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 27, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A 2-CD collector’s edition will coming out later this year. Audio clips are available after the jump. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring highlights from the music of the first season. Da Vinci’s Demons is created by David S. cameron-crowe-hawaiiMark Mothersbaugh revealed in an interview at last night’s BMI Film & Television Awards in Beverly Hills that he is currently scoring Cameron Crowe’s currently untitled romantic comedy drama starring Bradley Cooper, Emmy Stone, Rachel McAdams, Alec Baldwin, Jay Baruchel, Michael Chernus and Ilvana Milicevic. The movie follows a Hawaii-based defense contractor who has to work with an Air Force pilot to stop the launch of a weapons satellite. In the process, the pair begin to fall for one another. Crowe has also written the screenplay and is producing the with Scott Rudin (No Country for Old MenThe Social NetworkCaptain Phillips). Crowe previously collaborated with Jónsi on his last feature We Bought a Zoo and his wife Nancy Wilson who composed music for films including Vanilla Sky, Elizabethtown and Almost Famous. danna-bmiLast night, Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), held its annual Film & TV Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Mychael Danna was honored with the Richard Kirk Award, which is bestowed on composers who have made significant contributions to the realm of film and television music. The composer whose film scoring credits include last year’s Life of Pi, for which he received his first Academy Award, as well as MoneyballGirl InterruptedLittle Miss Sunshine, (500) Days of Summer and The Sweet Hereafter was presented the award by the night’s hosts, BMI President & CEO Del Bryant and BMI Vice President, Film/TV Relations Doreen Ringer-Ross. Several of Danna’s regular collaborators congratulated him via a tribute video, including Ang Lee (The Ice StormRide with the Devil), Atom Egoyan (ExoticaChloe), Mira Nair (Monsoon WeddingVanity Fair) and Bennett Miller (Capote). ‘The Signal’ Soundtrack Details

the-signalVarese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the sci-fi thriller The Signal. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nima Fakhrara (Exists, The Courier). Also included is the original song 2.3.5.41, which the composer wrote with hip hop producer Free the Robots. The soundtrack will be released on June 10, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Signal is directed by William Eubank and stars Brenton Thwaites, Olivia Cooke, Beau Knapp, Laurence Fishburne, Lin Shaye, Robert Longstreet and Jeffrey Grover. The movie follows three college students who become the targets of a rival computer hacker and are being lured to an abandoned shack in the middle of the desert. emmysThe Television Academy has revealed more details about their first TV music concert, which was originally announced earlier this year. SCORE! A Concert Celebrating Music Composed for Television will take place on Wednesday, May 21 at 8 p.m. at UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles. The event will be hosted by Jon Burlingame and will feature original scores from over 50 television series performed by a 67 piece orchestra and the 40 voice LA Chorus directed by Steve Lively. 15-times Emmy Award nominee Mark Snow (The X-FilesMillennium) will be honored with a Career Achievement Award presented by the Television Academy’s Music Peer Group. Among the composers who will be conducting their own scores at the concert will be Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Rome), Sean Callery  (24HomelandElementary), Alf Clausen (The Simpsons), Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones), James S. The album features selections from the series written by Emmy Award-winning composer John Lunn (Downton Abbey). The soundtrack will be released on June 30, 2014. The White Queen is based on Philippa Gregory’s historical novel series The Cousins’ War and stars Rebecca Ferguson, Max Irons, Janet McTeer, James Frain, Amanda Hale and David Oakes. The show about three women in their quest for power in the 15th Century premiered in the U.S. last year on Starz and was honored with three nominations at this year’s Golden Globe Awards. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award nominee Michael Price (SherlockHorrid Henry: The Movie) who also serves as a producer on the movie. The score was recorded with the Budapest Cafe Orchestra. Also included are songs by Cicero Buck, Selah Corbin and Polly Paulusma. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 27, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
