The details of the soundtrack album for the superhero sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by John Ottman (The Usual Suspects, Superman Returns, The Fantastic Four) who previously scored X2. Also included is Roberta Flack’s song The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face and Jim Groce’s Time in a Bottle. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 19, 2014 and physically on June 3.The CD version is now available for pre-order on Amazon. X-Men: Days of Future Past is directed by Bryan Singer and stars Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen. The movie features the characters from the original X-Men film trilogy who join forces with their younger selves from the past from X-Men: First Class in order to change a major historical event. The details for Seth MacFarlane’s western comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Joel McNeely (Holes, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Return to Never Land). Also included is the original end credits song A Million Ways to Die performed by Alan Jackson, which is already available as a single, as well as the film’s musical number If You’ve Only Got a Moustache performed by Amick Bryam. Imagine Dragons have written the original song Battle Cry for Michael Bay’s upcoming action sequel Transformers: Age of Extinction. The band also contributed original music during the scoring process by recording cues with the film’s composer Steve Jablonsky, and Hans Zimmer, who assisted in the process. The songs is said to be used in critical points during the movie. Imagine Dragons will perform the new single live at the film’s worldwide premiere in Hong Kong. Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1990 sci-fi thriller Solar Crisis produced by Richard Edlund and starring Charlton Heston, Tim Matheson, Peter Boyle and Jack Palance. The film’s original music is composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Maurice Jarre (Lawrence of Arabia, Dr. Zhivago, Dead Poets Society, Ghost). Michael Giacchino to Score ‘Jurassic World’

Michael Giacchino has signed on to score the upcoming action adventure Jurassic World. The film is directed by Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) and stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jake Johnson, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Omar Sy, Vincent D’Onofrio, Judy Greer and BD Wong. No plot details have been revealed yet, but the movie is set to take place 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park. Trevorrow has also co-written the screenplay with Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley are producing the project and Steven Spielberg serves as an executive producer. ‘House of Cards’ Season 2 Soundtrack Details

Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the second soundtrack album for the Netflix original series House of Cards. The album features selections from the score of the show’s second season composed by Jeff Beal (Rome, Monk, Appaloosa, Pollock). The soundtrack will be released as a 2-CD set on June 17, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Season 2 version of the composer’s main title theme is already available to download here. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring music from the first season. House of Cards developed by Beau Willimon, executive produced by David Fincher and starring Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright, Kate Mara, Kristen Connolly, Corey Stoll and Constance Zimmer received three Emmy Awards in 2013 and nine Emmy nominations including nods for Beal’s main titles theme and underscore. The movie follows an award-winning artist who is primed for superstardom. The pressures of success compel her to nearly end her life until she is saved by a young police officer.
