The film is directed by George Tillman, Jr. (Notorious, Faster) and stars Britt Robertson, Scott Eastwood, Jack Huston, Oona Chaplin and Alan Alda. The movie is based on the bestselling novel by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, Dear John) and centers on the star-crossed love affair between a former champion bull rider looking to make a comeback and a college student who is about to embark upon her dream job in New York City’s art world. Craig Bolotin (Black Rain, Light It Up) has written the screenplay. The album features selections from the film’s original score composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland, A Nightmare Before Christmas). The movie is directed by Christopher Menaul (Summer in FebruaryThe Forsyte Saga) and stars Kelsey Grammer, Stephen Moyer, Emmanuelle Chriqui, John Rhys Davies, Rufus Sewell, Eoin Macken, Aneurin Barnard, Vernon Dobtcheff, Tamsin Egerton and John Lynch. The three-hour event is based on the best-selling book by Bill O’Reilly and chronicles the life of Jesus of Nazareth through the retelling of the political, social and historical conflicts during the Roman Empire that ultimately led to his death. The movie follows an aging travel writer who sets out to hike the 2,100-mile Appalachian Trail with a long-estranged high school buddy and learns that some roads are better left untraveled. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nathaniel Mechaly (Colombiana, Taxi Brooklyn) who previously scored the first two installments in the series. Also included are the songs from the movie by artists including Glass Animals, Olafur Arnalds & Arnor Dan and The XX. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

hobbit-3Already playing in theaters since Wednesday is the fantasy adventure The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies directed by Peter Jackson and starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt, Hugo Weaving and Orlando Bloom. The film’s original music is composed by Howard Shore (The Silence of the LambsHugo) who also scored the previous Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings movies. The film’s original music is composed and conducted by Alan Silvestri (Back to the FutureForrest Gump, The Croods, The Avengers). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music digitally earlier this week. A CD version is set to be released on January 6. wild-talesQuartet Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Argentinian comedy thriller Wild Tales (Relatos Salvajes). The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla (Brokeback Mountain, Babel, The Motorcycle Diaries). Also included are songs by Giorgio Moroder, Lucien Belmond, Bobby Womack and David Guetta. The soundtrack will be released in the U.S. on February 17, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
