In addition to the nationwide expansion of Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper, three other new movies are opening across the country this week:
Opening in around 3300 theaters is the family movie Paddington written and directed by Paul King and starring Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Nicole Kidman, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington. The film’s original music is composed by Nick Urata (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Focus). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the score, as well as songs from the film by James Brown, Steppenwolf and Lionel Richie. Opening in roughly 3000 theaters is the comedy The Wedding Ringer directed by Jeremy Garelick and starring Kevin Hart, Josh Gad, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Ken Howard, Cloris Leachman, Jenifer Lewis, Mimi Rogers and Olivia Thirlby. Christopher Lennertz (Ride Along, Agent Carter, Identity Thief) has composed the film’s original score. Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film by such artists as The Black Eyed Peas, Boyz II Men, Otis Redding, Todd Rundgren, Hal Jeffrin and Rancid earlier this week.
