Jóhann Jóhannsson is reuniting with director So Yong Kim on the upcoming drama Lovesong. The film stars Jena Malone, Riley Keough, Brooklyn Decker, Amy Seimetz, Ryan Eggold and Rosanna Arquette. The movie follows Sarah & Mindy, two best friends who embark on an impromptu road trip with Sarah’s young daughter in tow and see their friendship develop into a surprising romance – despite the fact that Mindy is about to get married. Sara Quin, member of the pop duo Tegan and Sara, is making her film scoring debut on the upcoming indie comedy drama The Intervention. The film is written and directed by Clea DuVall and stars Melanie Lynskey, Cobie Smulders, Alia Shawkat, DuVall herself, Natasha Lyonne and Ben Schwartz. The movie takes place during a weekend getaway for four couples that takes a sharp turn when one of the couples discovers the entire trip was orchestrated to host an intervention on their marriage. The details of the soundtrack album for David O. Russell’s comedy drama Joy have been revealed. The album features the songs from the film by artists including The Rolling Stones, Bee Gees, Cream, Lee Morgan, Nat King Cole, The Ronettes, as well as the film’s cast, including Edgar Ramirez performing the Randy Newman-penned Mama Told Me Not To Come and Jennifer Lawrence & Ramirez who are performing the classic song Something Stupid. Also included are several tracks from the movie’s original score composed by West Dylan Thordson & David Campbell, with additional music by Blake Mills. Paramount Pictures will release a soundtrack album for the drama The Big Short. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nicholas Britell (A Tale of Love and Darkness, Gimme the Loot).
