Geffen Records will release a new soundtrack album for Cameron Crowe’s 2000 drama Almost Famous starring Kate Hudson, Billy Crudup, Frances McDormand, Jason Lee, Patrick Fugit, Anna Paquin, Fairuza Balk, Noah Taylor and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The album features almost every song from the movie, including several previously unreleased tracks such as all the Stillwater songs written by Crowe, Nancy Wilson (Jerry Maguire, Vanilla Sky, Elizabethtown) and Peter Frampton. Also included is the first-ever release of Wilson’s original score from the movie. The soundtrack will be released as a 5-CD set (visit Amazon to order) and a digital super deluxe edition (click here to order) on July 9, 2021. Expanded ‘Say Anything…’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Mondo has announced a new soundtrack release for Cameron Crowe’s 1989 comedy drama Say Anything… starring John Cusack, Ione Skye, John Mahoney, Lili Taylor, Polly Platt and Bebe Neuwirth. The double LP features the content of the original soundtrack album (released by Columbia Records) on the first disc, as well as previously unreleased demos and material, including long lost demo recordings of the Joe Lies songs as performed by Nancy Wilson for actress Lili Taylor, on the second disc. ‘Singles’ – Deluxe Edition Soundtrack to Be Released
Sony Music will release a new soundtrack album for 1992 romantic comedy Singles written and directed by Cameron Crowe and starring Bridget Fonda, Campbell Scott, Kyra Sedgwick, Sheila Kelley, Jim True, Bill Pullman and Matt Dillon. The album features the songs from the film by Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell, Alice in Chains, Citizen Dick, The Smashing Pumpkins, Mike McCready, Jimi Hendrix, Soundgarden & more. Also included are tracks from the movie’s score by Cornell and Paul Westerberg. The 2-CD set features the content of the original soundtrack album on the first disc and 18 new tracks on the second disc. The album will be released on February 17, 2017 and will also be available on vinyl.
Soundtrack for Showtime’s ‘Roadies’ Announced
The full details of the soundtrack album for the Showtime original series Roadies have been announced today. The album features a selection of songs from the show by such artists as Lindsey Buckingham, The Head & the Heart, Reignwolf, John Mellencamp, Jim James (of My Morning Jacket), Eddie Vedder, Lucius & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on August 26, 2016 by Republic Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Roadies is created by Cameron Crowe and stars Carla Gugino, Luke Wilson, Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Peter Cambor, Colson Baker, Ron White, Luis Guzman, Jacqueline Byers and Rainn Wilson. The series follows a road crew that helps with a rock band’s major multi-city tour.

The full details of the official soundtrack album for Cameron Crowe’s romantic comedy Aloha have been revealed. The album features two tracks from the film’s original score by Jónsi & Alex, as well as songs by Beck, David Crosby, Fleetwood Mac, The Blue Nile, Kurt Vile, Josh Ritter & more. The soundtrack will be released on May 26, 2015 by Madison Gate Records and Sony Legacy and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Aloha is written and directed by Crowe and stars Bradley Cooper, Rachel McAdams, Emma Stone, Bill Murray, John Krasinski, Danny McBride and Alec Baldwin. Mark Mothersbaugh to Score Cameron Crowe’s Untitled Hawaii-Based Comedy Drama
Mark Mothersbaugh revealed in an interview at last night’s BMI Film & Television Awards in Beverly Hills that he is currently scoring Cameron Crowe’s currently untitled romantic comedy drama starring Bradley Cooper, Emmy Stone, Rachel McAdams, Alec Baldwin, Jay Baruchel, Michael Chernus and Ilvana Milicevic. The movie follows a Hawaii-based defense contractor who has to work with an Air Force pilot to stop the launch of a weapons satellite. In the process, the pair begin to fall for one another. Crowe has also written the screenplay and is producing the with Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men, The Social Network, Captain Phillips). Crowe previously collaborated with Jónsi on his last feature We Bought a Zoo and his wife Nancy Wilson who composed music for films including Vanilla Sky, Elizabethtown and Almost Famous.
‘We Bought a Zoo’ Soundtrack Announced
Pitchfork (via The Playlist) has revealed the soundtrack details for Cameron Crowe’s comedy drama We Bought a Zoo. The album features the original music from the movie by Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi who makes his studio feature scoring debut on the project. Also included on the soundtrack are reworked versions of songs from the musician’s 2010 solo album, along with Sigur Rós’s Hoppipolla. Jónsi collaborated with Russell Crowe on one of the tracks and composer Nico Muhly is providing the orchestral arrangements. Sigur Rós’ Jónsi to Score Cameron Crowe’s ‘We Bought a Zoo’
The AV Club (via The Playlist) has revealed that Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi is scoring Cameron Crowe’s upcoming comedy drama We Bought a Zoo. The film is based on Benjamin Mee’s memoir and revolves around a widowed father who buys a dilapidated zoo in hopes of making a fresh start. He and his children, along with a small but loyal staff, work to get the zoo reopened. The film is starring Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Elle Fanning, Angus Macfadyen and Thomas Hayden Church. Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada, Morning Glory) is adapting Mee’s memoir for the screen and Julie Torn (Unstoppable, Red Riding Hood) is producing. The movie marks the first major scoring assignment for Jónsi Birgisson.
