vinylPremiering tonight is the new HBO original series Vinyl created by Terence Winter, executive produced by Martin Scorsese and starring Bobby Cannavale, Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Juno Temple, Ato Essandoh, J. C. MacKenzie, P. J. Byrne, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen and Paul Ben-Victor. Atlantic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the show’s first season by artists including Sturgill Simpson (who performs the title song), Ty Taylor, David Johansen, Kaleo, Otis Reeding, Ruth Brown & more. 11-22-63Premiering tomorrow, February 15, is the Hulu mini-series 11.22.63 based on Stephen King’s 2011 novel, adapted by show runner Bridget Carpenter and starring James Franco, Sarah Gadon, Josh Duhamel, T.R. Knight, Daniel Webber, Chris Cooper, Cherry Jones, George MacKay, Lucy Fry, Jack Fulton and Leon Rippy. Executive producer J.J. Abrams has composed the theme for the opening titles sequence (which can be checked out here) and Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, State of Play, The Rite) has composed the show’s original score. Ennio Morricone Wins BAFTA Award for ‘The Hateful Eight’

baftaEnnio Morricone has received his sixth BAFTA Award for his score for Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight in the Original Music category. Morricone previously won the BAFTA Award for Days of Heaven, Once Upon a Time in America, The Mission, The Untouchables and Cinema Paradiso. He was nominated alongside Thomas Newman (Bridge of Spies), Johann Johannsson (Sicario), Ryuichi Sakamoto & Alva Noto (The Revenant) and John Williams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens). ‘The Innocents’ (‘Agnus Dei’) Soundtrack Released

agnus-deiBayard Musique has released a soundtrack album for the French/Polish drama The Innocents (Agnus Dei). The album features the film’s original music composed by Grégoire Hetzel (Incendies, The Blue Room, The Tree). Also included is other music featured in the movie, such as Max Richter’s On the Nature of Daylight & more. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The Innocents is directed by Anne Fontaine (Coco Before Chanel, Adore) and stars Lou de Laâge Agata Kulesza, Agata Buzek, Vincent Macaigne, Joanna Kulig and Katarzyna Dabrowska. The movie is set in 1945 Poland and follows a young French doctor who is on a mission to help World War II survivors and becomes the only hope to several pregnant nuns who are unable to reconcile their faith with their pregnancies in hiding. Guy Gross to Score Stephan Elliott’s ‘Flammable Children’

guy-grossGuy Gross is set to reteam with director Stephan Elliott on the upcoming comedy Flammable Children. Guy Pearce and Radha Mitchell are attached to star in the movie, which is written and directed by Elliott. The film is set in an Australian beach suburb in the mid-1970s and follows a 14-year old boy who tries to find his feet in a world changing faster than his hormones, and deal with his crush on a shy and sensitive girl-next-door. Al Clark and Jamie Hilton are producing the project. Gross has previously collaborated with Elliott on films including The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, A Few Best Men, Frauds and Welcome to Woop Woop. Read the rest of this entry »

‘The Leftovers’ Season 2 Soundtrack Details

The album features selections from original music of the show’s second season composed by Max Richter (Waltz with Bashir, Disconnect, Testament of Youth, The Congress). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 19, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

DeadpoolCovOpening in most theaters this weekend is the comic book movie Deadpool directed by Tim Miller and starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein and Brianna Hildebrand. The film’s original music is composed by Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL (Mad Max: Fury Road, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by WHAM!, Salt-N-Pepa, DMX & more. Check out our previous article for the full album details. zoolander-2Also opening wide is the comedy sequel Zoolander 2 directed by Ben Stiller and starring himself, Penelope Cruz, Will Ferrell, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen. Theodore Shapiro (The Devil Wears Prada, Tropic Thunder, Marley & Me, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Trumbo). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score digitally today. A CD version will be released next month. The album features the film’s original music composed by Roque Banos (In the Heart of the Sea, The Machinist, Evil Dead, Oldboy, Sexy Beast). Risen is directed by Kevin Reynolds (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Waterworld) and stars Joseph Fiennes, Tom Felon, Peter Firth and Cliff Curtis. The end credits tracks is already available to download here. The Shannara Chronicles is based on Terry Brooks’ best-selling fantasy books and stars Poppy Drayton, Ivana Baquero, Austin Butler,James Remar, Brooke Williams, Daniel MacPherson, Marcus Vanco and John Rhys-Davies. zoolander-2Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the comedy sequel Zoolander 2. The album features the film’s original music composed by Theodore Shapiro (The Devil Wears Prada, Tropic Thunder, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, Trumbo). The soundtrack is now available digitally on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples. A physical version is set to come out on March 11, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Zoolander 2 is directed by Ben Stiller who also stars in the film alongside Penelope Cruz, Will Ferrell, Owen Wilson, Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen, as well as numerous celebrities who appear in cameo performances.
