‘Gangsterdam’ Soundtrack Announced

gangsterdamL’R du Trésor will release a soundtrack album for Romain Lévy’s French comedy Gangsterdam. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob (aka Robin Coudert) (HornsManiacPopulaireEvery Secret Thing) who previously scored Lévy’s Radiostars. Also included are tracks by Tangerine Dream, Skepta, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Booba, The Game and Omer Adam. The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 29, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on AmazonGangsterdam starring Kev Adams, Manon Azem, Côme Levin, Mona Walravens and Patrick Timsit follows three college students who travel to Amsterdam, where their lives become a lot more complicated when they find out that the drug they’ve come to collect belongs to the city’s most notorious criminals. broadchurchMercury Classics is releasing the original song Take My Leave of You from the first episode of the third season of ITV’s Broadchurch. The track is composed by the show’s composer Olafur Arnalds and performed by Arnór Dan and is being released as a digital single on February 28 and is available to download on AmazonBroadchurch is created by Chris Chibnall and stars David Tennant, Olivia Colman, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Arthur Darvill, Carolyn Pickles, Adam Wilson and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Among the music-related highlights was Justin Hurwitz receiving his first two Oscars for his music for La La Land and lyricists Benj Pasek & Justin Paul receiving the award for the song City of Stars from Damien Chazelle’s musical. The film is written and directed by Shana Feste (Country StrongEndless LoveThe Greatest) and stars Vera Farmiga, Christopher Plummer, Lewis MacDougall, Bobby Cannavale, Kristen Schaal, Peter Fonda, Christopher Lloyd and Dolly Wells. The movie centers on a single mother who, along with her awkward 14-year-old son, is forced to drive her estranged, care-free, pot-dealing father across country after he’s kicked out of yet another nursing home. oscarsJustin Hurwitz has received the Academy Award for his score for Damien Chazelle’s La La Land. The other nominated composers in the Best Original Score category were Mica Levi (Jackie), Dustin O’Halloran & Hauschka (Lion), Nicholas Britell (Moonlight) and Thomas Newman (Passengers). Hurwitz also received a second Oscar for the original song City of Stars from the movie musical and shared the honor with lyricists Justin Paul and Benj Pasek.

danny-elfmanIt was announced today that Danny Elfman (Spider-ManBatmanNightmare Before ChristmasAvengers: Age of UltronAlice in Wonderland) is the recipient of this year’s Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award, which will be presented at the annual Hollywood in Vienna Concert Gala at Vienna Concert Hall on September 29, 2017. The composer will be accepting the award in person and is also expected to perform one of his songs. when-we-risePremiering tomorrow, February 27, is the ABC mini-series When We Rise created by Dustin Lance Black and starring Guy Pearce, Mary-Louise Parker, Rachel Griffiths, Michael K. Williams and Ivory Aquino. The show’s themes and music are composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland) and Chris Bacon (Source Code, Bates Motel). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring a suite from the composers’ score, as well as songs by Jordan Fisher, Fancy, Brandi Carlile and Zella Day. West (Short Term 12GrandmaAbout AlexBand of Robbers). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Youth in Oregon is directed by Joel David Moore and stars Frank Langella, Billy Crudup, Christina Applegate, Mary Kay Place, Josh Lucas, Nicola Peltz and Alex Shaffer. The movie follows a man who is tasked with driving his 80-year-old father-in-law cross country to be legally euthanized in Oregon. Emmy Awards Add Music Supervision Category

The category will be introduced at this year’s 69th Emmy Awards.
