Daniel Pemberton has announced that he has composed the original score for the upcoming HBO original movie Brexit. The film is directed by Toby Haynes and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Dominic Cummings, who spearheaded the Vote Leave campaign and Rory Kinnear as Craig Oliver, Prime Minister David Cameron’s director of communications and head of the Remain campaign. The drama goes behind the scenes, revealing the personalities, strategies and feuds of the Leave and Remain campaigns. James Graham (A Brilliant Young Mind) wrote the script and is also executive producing the HBO Films, BBC Studios and Channel 4 production with Juliette Howell (London Spy) and Tessa Ross. A soundtrack album has been released for the Danish drama A Fortunate Man (Lykke-Per). The album features the films original music composed by Lorenz Dangel (Hell, What Will People Say). A Fortunate Man is directed by Bille August (The House of the Spirits, Smilla’s Sense of Snow) and stars Esben Smed, Katrine Greis-Rosenthal and Tommy Kenter. The movie is based on nobel prize winning author Henrik Pontoppidan’s 1898 novel and follows a young man, Per, who decides to break free from his strict religious home and leave his patriarch father in Jutland, an island on the top of Denmark, in a quest for happiness. Premiering on Friday, December 21 in the U.S. is the British mini-series Vanity Fair developed by Gwyneth Hughes and starring Olivia Cooke, Tom Bateman, Suranne Jones, Michael Palin, Johnny Flynn and Martin Clunes. The show’s original music is composed by show’s original music composed by Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, The Split, Vita and Virginia). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as songs by Afterhere, Jade Bird, Paloma Faith & others earlier this fall when the series premiered in the UK on ITV. Also premiering on Friday is DreamWorks Animation’s new Netflix original series 3Below: Tales of Arcadia created by Guillermo del Toro and starring Diego Luna, Tatiana Maslany, Nick Offerman, Glenn Close, Cole Sand, Steven Yeun, Emile Hirsch and Kelsey Grammer. Jeff Danna (The Good Dinosaur, The Boondock Saints, Storks, Tyrant) is composing the show’s original music. Three new movies are opening in theaters nationwide today:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey & Rodney Rothman and starring Shameik Moore, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Liev Schreiber and Brian Tyree Henry. The film’s original score is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Ocean’s 8). Sony Music will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score (click here for more information). Republic Records has released a separate album featuring the songs from the movie (click here for the full details).
Also opening wide is the crime drama The Mule directed by Clint Eastwood who also stars in the movie alongside Bradley Cooper, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Pena, Dianne Wiest, Andy Garcia, Alison Eastwood, Taissa Farmiga and Ignacio Serricchio. Arturo Sandoval (For Love or Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story, At Middleton) has composed the film’s original score. Toby Keith has contributed an original song to the movie. ‘Roma’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Sony Masterworks has announced a soundtrack album for the Netflix original movie Roma. The soundtrack is curated by director Alfonso Cuarón and soundtrack producers/music supervisors Lynn Fainchtein and Randall Poster and brings us back to the sonic Mexico of the 1970s, when the famous XEW, a reference of Mexican radio, transmitted English pop and rock, while gradually introducing the new Mexican pop, through performers like José José, Juan Gabriel, and Rigo Tovar, musical icons that in the present, have remained as references of Mexican and Latin American music.
