Paul Haslinger (Underworld, Halt and Catch Fire, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Crank, The Three Musketeers, Shoot ‘Em Up, Death Race, Prom Night, Blue Crush) has composed the original score for the upcoming Canadian/British drama A Long Winter. The film is written and directed by Andrew Haigh (All of Us Strangers, Lean on Pete) and stars Fred Hechinger, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Caitríona Balfe, Kit Connor and D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai. The movie follows a young man who refuses to give up hope after his mother disappears during the first blizzard of the season as one long Colorado winter reshapes his relationship with his father and his understanding of the man he is becoming. Tristan Goligher (True Things, The Strays), Chad Oakes & Michael Frislev (Hell on Wheels, Van Helsing) and Michael Elliott (Sulphur and White, Benediction) are producing the The Bureau, Nomadic Pictures & Film4 production. A Long Winter is premiering this weekend at the 2026 Telluride Film Festival and is expected be released in theaters later this year by MUBI.
