Samuel Sim (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Spanish Princess, The Bay, Anne, Domina, A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story, The Halcyon, Home Fires) is the composer of the new MGM+/BBC limited series A Tale of Two Cities. The show is created by Daniel West (Gunpowder) based on Charles Dickens’ classic novel of the same title and stars Kit Harington, François Civil and Mirren Mack. The 4-part drama directed by Richard Clark (The Chemistry of Death) tells the story of three young people who collide on the streets of Georgian London, triggering a journey into the heart of Revolutionary France. West & Harrington are also executive producing the Federation Stories production with Polly Williams (Miss Austen, Red Rose), Léo Becker, Sarah Best and Hong Khaou (Lilting). A Tale of Two Cities will premiere in the U.S. and several other international markets this Sunday, September 6 on MGM+ and will debut in the UK later this year on BBC One (and the BBCiPlayer).
Sim’s other recent projects include ITV’s Secret Service, which premiered in the UK earlier this year and has recently been acquired by MGM+ for a U.S. debut in the coming months.
