Samuel Sim (The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Bay, The Spanish Princess, Anne, The Halcyon, Domina, A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story, Home Fires) has composed the original music for the new ITV drama Secret Service. The show is based on Tom Bradby’s novel of the same title and stars Gemma Arterton, Rafe Spall, Alex Kingston, Roger Allam, Mark Stanley, Amaka Okafor, Avi Nash, Aoife Hinds, Alma Prelec and Khalid Abdalla. The 5-part thriller follows a senior MI6 officer who must navigate the shifting sands of political loyalty, international threat and personal sacrifice as a covert investigation uncovers evidence that a high-ranking U.K. politician may be working as a Russian asset. Bradby (Shadow Dancer) is also executive producing the Potboiler production with Gail Egan (A Most Wanted Man, Our Kind of Traitor), Andrea Calderwood (Die My Love, Funny Woman) and Chloe Sizer. James Marsh (The Theory of Everything, Man on Wire) has directed three of the five episodes. Secret Service is premiering in the UK tonight on ITV and will also be available to stream on ITVX.
Sim is also expected to return to score the sixth season of ITV’s The Bay.
