La-La Land Records to Release Soundtrack Album for Fox’s ‘The Orville’

La-La Land Records will release the first soundtrack album for the Fox sci-fi comedy drama The Orville. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Bruce Broughton (Silverado, Young Sherlock Holmes, Miracle on 34th Street) who wrote the series’ main titles theme and scored the first episode, John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf), Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West, Iron Will, American Dad) and Andrew Cottee. The film is directed by Nick Broomfield (Tales of the Grim Sleeper) and tells the story of enduring love between Leonard Cohen and his Norwegian muse Marianne Ihlen. The movie follows their relationship from the early days in Greece to how their love evolved when Leonard became a successful musician. The movie follows an American painter and a Russian émigré who find each other in the Arctic circle and discover a future and family that they didn’t know they had. Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the National Geographic original series Valley of the Boom. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Emmy Award winners Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein (Stranger Things, Native Son). The soundtrack will be released on January 11, 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon (digital version) and here (CD version). Valley of the Boom is created by Matthew Carnahan and stars Bradley Whitford, Steve Zahn, Lamorne Morris, John Karna, Dakota Shapiro and Oliver Cooper. The film’s original score is composed by Marc Shaiman (Hairspray, A Few Good Men, Misery) who also wrote the movie’s original songs with Scott Wittman. Composer Julian Wass (Hit and Run, The Miseducation of Cameron Post) is reuniting with director Alex Lehmann on the upcoming Netflix original movie Paddleton. The film starring Mark Duplass, Ray Romano, Ravi Patel and Christine Woods centers on the bromance between two misfit neighbors, which becomes an unexpectedly emotional journey when one of them is diagnosed with terminal cancer.
