Hippocampus has released a soundtrack album for the French limited TV series Savages (Les Sauvages). The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Rob (aka Robin Coudert) (Maniac, Revenge, Horns, Troy: Fall of a City). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. Savages is directed by Rebecca Zlotowski and stars Roschdy Zem, Dali Benssalah, Souheila Yacoub, Marina Foïs, Amira Casar, Romain Levi, Lyna Khoudri and Sofiane Zermani. The drama based on the novels of the same title by Sabri Louatah is set against a backdrop of politics and social tensions in contemporary France.

Three new movies are opening in wide release this week:
Already in theaters since this past Tuesday is the comic boot film reboot The Amazing Spider-Man directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as The Lizard, as well as Martin Sheen, Sally Field and Denis Leary. The film’s music is composed and conducted by James Horner. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this week. Varese Sarabande Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for Oliver Stone’s crime drama Savages. The release features six tracks from the film’s original score composed by Adam Peters. Also included are tracks by artists such as Bob Dylan, Peter Tosh, Massive Attack, Electric Light Orchestra, Thievery Corporation, John Taverner and Gustavo Santaolalla. The soundtrack will be released on July 3, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack album for Oliver Stone’s crime drama Savages. Among the tracks featured on the album are Paradise Circus by Massive Attack, Romance In Durango by Bob Dylan, Mandala by Thievery Corporation (feat. Anoushka Shankar), Eternity’s Sunrise by John Taverner, Legalize It (Secret Circuit’s Echodelic Shockblast Dub) by Peter Tosh and Neptune’s Net by M. Ward. The soundtrack is scheduled to be released on July 3, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The full track list and cover art will be posted within the next few weeks. Savages based on the bestselling novel by Don Winslow stars Aaron Johnson, Taylor Kitsch, Blake Lively, Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Uma Thurman, Joel David Moore, Emile Hirsch, Demian Bichir and John Travolta. Adam Peters Scoring Oliver Stone’s ‘Savages’
Adam Peters is scoring the upcoming crime drama Savages. The film is directed by Oliver Stone and stars Aaron Johnson, Taylor Kitsch, Blake Lively, Benicio Del Toro, Salma Hayek, Uma Thurman, Joel David Moore, Emile Hirsch, Demian Bichir and John Travolta. The film is based on the bestselling novel by Don Winslow and follows two pot growers whose shared girlfriend is kidnapped by a Mexican drug cartel. Winslow has written the screenplay with Stone and Shane Salerno (Shaft, Armageddon). Moritz Borman (Terminator Salvation, Alexander) and Eric Kopeloff (W., Stay) are producing the film. Peters has previously collaborated with Stone on the 2009 documentary South of the Border. The director’s other previous musical collaborators include Craig Armstrong (World Trade Center, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps), John Williams (JFK, Born on the Fourth of July), Vangelis (Alexander), Ennio Morricone (U-Turn) and James Horner (The Hand). Savages will be released on July 6, 2012 by Universal Pictures.
