Premiering on Thursday, January 30, is the Netflix limited series The Stranger created by Harlan Coben and starring Richard Armitage, Siobhan Finneran, Jennifer Saunders, Hannah John-Kamen,  Anthony Head and Stephen Rea. The show’s original music is composed by David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Forbidden Kingdom, Papillon, The Gifted). Check out our previous news article to learn more about the drama. The full series will be available to stream on Thursday exclusively on Netflix.

Premiering on Friday, January 31, is the new Pixar Animation Studios short Lamp Life directed by Valerie LaPointe and featuring the voices of Christina Hendricks, Annie Potts and Jim Hanks. Jake Monaco (Let’s Be Cops, Dumplin’, Forky Asks a Question, Keeping Up with the Joneses) has composed the film’s original music. The short, which explores what exactly happened to Bo Peep between her separation from Woody to the events in Toy Story 4, will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+. Dan Levy Wins Annie Award for ‘I Lost My Body’

Dan Levy was honored in the Outstanding Achievement, Music in an Animated Feature Production category for the music from Netflix’s I Lost My Body. Levy accepted his award in person at tonight’s 47th Annie Awards at UCLA’s Royce Hall. The other contenders in the category were Gints Zilbalodis for AWAY, Christophe Beck, Frode Fjellheim, Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez for Frozen 2 , Mark Ronson & Theodore Shapiro for Spies in Disguise and Randy Newman for Toy Story 4. Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:

Opening in most theaters is the horror thriller The Turning directed by Floria Sigismondi and starring Mackenzie Davis, Finn Wolfhard, Brooklynn Prince and Joely Richardson. The film’s original score is composed by Nathan Barr (True Blood, Hostel, The Americans, Carnival Row). KRO Records & Sony Masterworks have released a soundtrack album featuring songs by Courtney Love, Lawrence Rothman, Empress Of, Mitski, girl in red & others. Click here for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the is action comedy The Gentlemen written and directed by Guy Ritchie and starring Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell and Hugh Grant. Chris Benstead has composed the film’s original music. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third season composed by Johnny Klimek & Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run, The International, Cloud Atlas, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer), including the song Wir sind uns lang verloren gegangen performed by Natalia Mateo (also available as a digital single), as well as tracks by Woods of Birnam, The Bryan Ferry Orchestra  & more. Rob (Maniac, Revenge, Horns, Troy: Fall of a City, Planetarium) has composed the original score for the upcoming horror thriller Run Sweetheart Run. The film is written and directed by Shana Feste (Country Strong, Endless Love) and stars Ella Balinska, Pilou Asbæk, Clark Gregg, Aml Ameen, Dayo Okeniyi and Shohreh Aghdashloo. Nico Muhly (The Reader, Margaret, Kill Your Darlings, Howards End) has contributed original music to the upcoming drama Worth. The film is directed by Sara Colangelo (The Kindergarten Teacher, Little Accidents) and stars Michael Keaton, Stanley Tucci, Amy Ryan, Tate Donovan, Talia Balsam and Laura Benanti. The movie centers on Kenneth Feinberg, a powerful D.C. lawyer appointed Special Master of the 9/11 Fund, as he fights off the cynicism, bureaucracy, and politics associated with administering government funds.
