Manners McDade has released a soundtrack EP for the coming-of-age drama Retablo. The EP features the film’s original music composed by Harry Escott (Shame, Hard Candy, Welcome to the Punch, A Mighty Heart, The Face of an Angel). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Retablo is directed by Alvaro Delgado-Aparicio and stars Magaly Solier, Amiel Cayo andJunior Bejar Roca. The movie, which was the Peruvian entry for the Best International Feature Film at this year’s Academy Awards, follows a 14-year old boy who wants to become a master story-box maker to carry on with the family legacy, when he accidentally observes his father in a situation that shatters his whole world. The film is directed by Matt Wolf (Teenage, Recorder: The Marion Stokes Project) and tells the story of a group of countercultural visionaries who built an enormous replica of earth’s ecosystem called Biosphere 2 in 1991. Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1995 thriller Dolores Claiborne directed by Taylor Hackford and starring Kathy Bates, Jennifer Jason Leigh and David Strathairn. The 2-CD set features the expanded original score from the Castle Rock Entertainment production composed by Danny Elfman (Batman, Spider-Man, Alice in Wonderland, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), including almost an hour of previously unreleased music.
