Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter’s Bone, The Lost Daughter, Remarkably Bright Creatures, Out of the Furnace, Locke, Leave No Trace, Daddio, Last Chance Harvey) has recently scored the upcoming British thriller A Talent for Murder. The film is directed by Anton Corbijn (The American, A Most Wanted Man) and stars Helen Mirren, Alden Ehrenreich and Olivia Cooke. The movie is based on Joanna Murray-Smith’s play Switzerland and tells the story of a mysterious young man from a New York publisher who is sent to Switzerland to persuade the renowned writer Patricia Highsmith to write one final installment of the Ripley anthology.. Murray-Smith also wrote the screenplay. Gabrielle Tana (Philomena, The Duchess), Mickey Liddell (Jackie, The Grey), Pete Shilaimon (Megan Leavey, I Can Only Imagine), Jim Robison, Kurt Martin (Moon Rock for Monday), Carolyn Marks Blackwood (The Dig, The Invisible Woman), Troy Lum (Dangerous Animals, Lee), Andrea Occhipinti (The White Ribbon, This Must Be the Place) and Stefano Massenzi (The Trainers, Drive Me Crazy) are producing the LD Entertainment, Brouhaha Entertainment, Lunar Pictures & Lucky Red production. A Talent for Murder will premiere next month at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in U.S. theaters on October 23.
