Premiering today is the the National Geographic event series Genius: Aretha created by Suzan-Lori Parks and starring Cynthia Erivo, Courtney B. Vance, Malcolm Barrett, Pauletta Washington, David Cross, Patrice Covington, Rebecca Naomi Jones and Steven Norfleet. The show’s original score is composed by Terence Blanchard (BlacKkKlansman, Inside Man, Da 5 Bloods, Malcolm X). Raphael Saadiq (Lovecraft County, Insecure) serves as the project’s executive music producer and Hans Zimmer & Lorne Balfe have provided a new version of their Emmy Award-nominated main titles theme. Premiering on Wednesday, March 24 is the HBO Sports documentary The Day Sports Stood Still directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Brian Grazer & Justin Wilkes about the unprecedented sports shutdown in March of 2020 and the remarkable turn of events that followed. Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder, Enough Said, The Affair, Ray Donovan, The Good Shepherd, The Loudest Voice) has composed the film’s original music.
