Bobby Krlic (aka The Haxan Cloak) has composed the music for the first season of the new Netflix original series Seven Seconds. The show is created by Veena Sud (The Killing, Cold Case) based on the 2013 Russian movie The Major and stars Clare-Hope Ashitey, Regina King, Beau Knapp, Russell Hornsby, Michael Mosely, David Lyons, Raul Castillo and Zackary Momoh. The drama revolves around the death of a 15-year-old African American boy in Jersey City that sets off a police cover-up and a search for the truth.

‘Nashville’ Season 6 – Volume 1 Soundtrack Released
Big Machine Records has released a new soundtrack album for the CMT original series Nashville. The album features the songs from the first half of the show’s sixth season performed by cast members including Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Maisy Stella, Chris Carmack, Rainee Blake and Rhiannon Giddens. The Season 6 – Volume 1 soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. A CD version is set to come out on March 16 and is available for pre-order here. The label has previously released multiple soundtracks for the previous five seasons.
Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Trolls: The Beat Goes On!’ to Be Released
RCA Records will release a soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s Netflix series Trolls: The Beat Goes On!. The album features the main titles song Hair in the Air performed by Amanda Leighton & Skylar Astin and written by Jeannie Lurie, Mia Minichiello & Matias Mora. Also included are the other original songs from the show’s first two seasons written by Alana Da Fonseca and performed by the series’ voice cast. The soundtrack will be released physically on March 23, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A digital EP featuring six songs is already available to download here. Trolls: The Beat Goes On! is developed by Matthew Ireland Beans and features the voices of Leighton & Astin, as well as Ron Funches, David Fynn, David Koechner, Sean T. Krishnan and Sam Lerner.
NBC’s ‘Champions’ to Feature Music by Jesse Novak
Jesse Novak is scoring the new NBC comedy Champions. The show is created by Charlie Grandy & Mindy Kaling and stars Anders Holm, Fortune Feimster, Andy Favreau, J.J. Totah and Mouzam Makkar. The series follows a washed-up high school baseball star who reluctantly gave up his dreams to take over the family gym in Brooklyn. Grandy and Kaling are also executive producing the Universal Television & 3 Arts Entertainment production with Howard Klein, Matt Warburton and Michael Spiller.
Soundtrack Album for BET’s ‘Death Row Chronicles’ to Be Released
A soundtrack album will be released for the new BET docu-series Death Row Chronicles. The album features songs from and inspired by the show by artists including Snoop Dogg, Ali Nikou, Sam Sneed, Lady of Rage and Nate Dogg, as well as a never-released track performed and produced by Kurupt. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, February 23 and physically next month and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Death Row Chronicles produced by Entertainment One (eOne) & Creature Films explores the rise of the genre-defining record label and examines the myths and legends that have sprung up around Death Row, as well as celebrate the groundbreaking music it produced and how it influenced some of today’s biggest hip hop artists.
Soundtrack Album for ’21 Jump Street’ TV Series Announced
Varese Sarabande has announced a new soundtrack album for the classic Fox TV series 21 Jump Street created by Patrick Hasburgh & Stephen J. Cannell and starring Johnny Depp, Holly Robinson, Peter DeLuise, Dustin Nguyen, Richard Grieco and Steven Williams. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Peter Bernstein (The Ewok Adventures, Canadian Bacon, Class Reunion, Silent Rage, Chicago Hope), as well as the main titles theme by performed by Holly Robinson. The soundtrack will be released as a 2-CD set and will be available to order this Friday, February 23 on the label’s official website.
Stephen Warbeck to Score Richard Eyre’s ‘King Lear’
Stephen Warbeck is reteaming with director Richard Eyre on the upcoming new film adaptation of King Lear. The TV movie based on the classic Shakepeare play is written and directed by Eyre (Notes on a Scandal, Iris) and stars Anthony Hopkins, Emma Thompson, Emily Watson, Florence Pugh, Christopher Eccleston, Jim Broadbent and Andrew Scott. The drama is set in a fictional version of present-day England and tells the story of the eponymous ruler, presiding over a totalitarian military dictatorship in England. Colin Callender (Wolf Hall, Howards End) is executive producing the project for Playground, alongside Sonia Friedman.
Niall Byrne Scoring ITV’s ‘Hatton Garden’
Niall Byrne has recently composed the music for the upcoming ITV mini-series Hatton Garden. The drama is written by Jeff Pope (Philomena, Stan and Ollie) & Terry Winsor (Essex Boys) and stars Timothy Spall, Kenneth Cranham, Brian F. O’Byrne, David Hayman, Alex Norton, Ian Puleston-Davies, Geoff Bell and Nasser Memarzia. The 4-parter tells the inside story of how an elderly gang of career criminals pulled off the audacious 2015 burglary in London’s diamond district.

Premiering in the U.S. on February 20 is the British crime drama The Frankenstein Chronicles created by Benjamin Ross & Barry Langford and starring Sean Bean, Tom Ward, Richie Campbell, Vanessa Kirby, Ed Stoppard and Ryan Sampson. Roger Goula (Next Goal Wins, Identicals) and Harry Escott (Shame, Hard Candy, Welcome to the Punch) have composed the show’s original music. The series’ first season premiered in the UK in 2015 and the second season last year on ITV. Both seasons of the drama will be available to stream in the U.S. on Netflix.
