20th Century Fox TV Records has released Aimee Mann‘s cover of The Cars’ hit song Drive from FX’s limited series The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. The track, which was featured in the last episode of the show, is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story is developed by Tom Rob Smith and executive produced by Ryan Murphy and stars Darren Criss, Edgar Ramírez, Penelope Cruz and Ricky Martin. The drama is based on Maureen Orth’s book Vulgar Favors: Andrew Cunanan, Gianni Versace, and the Largest Failed Manhunt in U.S. History and explores the murder of designer Gianni Versace by serial killer Andrew Cunanan.

Soundtrack Album for Paramount Network’s ‘Waco’ Released
Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album for the Paramount Network limited series Waco. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Jeff Russo (Fargo, The Night Of, Star Trek: Discovery, Legion, Altered Carbon) and Jordan Gagne. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Waco is created by John Erick Dowdle & Drew Dowdle and stars Michael Shannon, Taylor Kitsch, John Leguizamo, Andrea Riseborough, Rory Culkin, Melissa Benoist, Paul Sparks, Shea Whigham, Camryn Manheim and Julia Garner. The 6-parter is based on the true story of the 1993 FBI siege of a religious sect in Waco, Texas that resulted in the deadly shoot out and fire.
Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘Altered Carbon’ Announced
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Altered Carbon. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, The Night Of, Star Trek: Discovery, Counterpart), including the composer’s main titles theme. Also included and a cover of Johnny Cash’s Ain’t No Grave performed by performed by actress Renée Elise Goldsberry (Quellcrist Falconer) and Sune Rose Wagner’s performance of White Zombie’s More Human Than Human. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 9. The download link will be added to this article within the next day. Altered Carbon is created by Laeta Kalogridis and stars Joel Kinnaman, James Purefoy, Martha Higareda, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Will Yun Lee and Dichen Lachman.
Pinar Toprak to Score Syfy’s ‘Krypton’
Pinar Toprak is composing the music for the upcoming Syfy original series Krypton. The show is developed by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, Da Vinci’s Demons) & Cameron Welsh and stars Cameron Cuffe, Georgina Campbell, Elliot Cowan, Ann Ogbomo, Aaron Pierre, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day, Blake Ritson, Ian McElhinney and Shaun Sipos. The show based the DC characters centers on Seg-El, the legendary Man of Steel’s grandfather, as a young man who is faced with a life and death conflict – save his home planet or let it be destroyed in order to restore the fate of his future grandson.
‘Elvis Presley: The Searcher’ Soundtrack Announced
Legacy Recordings has announced a soundtrack album for the documentary Elvis Presley: The Searcher. The soundtrack, which features 18 essential Elvis Presley hits, including rare alternative versions of songs, will be released on April 6, 2018 and is now available for pre-order here (digital version) and here (vinyl version). A 3-CD deluxe edition features 37 additional Elvis cuts, as well as a special disc featuring selections from the film’s original score composed by Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ Wooden Heart, and the music that inspired Elvis. Details for ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ Soundtrack Collection Announced
La-La Land Records has announced the full details of the new soundtrack release for the cult TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer created by Joss Whedon and starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Alyson Hannigan, Nicholas Brendon and Anthony Stewart Head. The 4-CD set features selections from the show’s original music by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man, Edge of Tomorrow) who received an Emmy Award for his score from the second season, Thomas Wander (2012, Independence Day Resurgence), Robert Duncan (Castle, Timeless, S.W.A.T.), Shawn Clement and Sean Murray. Also included is the original score from the 1992 Buffy the Vampire Slayer feature film starring Kristy Swanson composed by Academy Award nominee Carter Burwell (Carol, Fargo, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri).
Trevor Morris to Score AT&T Audience Network’s ‘Condor’
Trevor Morris has been tapped to score the upcoming AT&T Audience Network original series Condor. The show is developed by Jason Smilovic (Lucky Number Slevin, War Dogs) & Todd Katzberg and stars Max Irons, William Hurt, Leem Lubany, Angel Bonanni, Kristen Hager, with Mira Sorvino, Brendan Fraser and Bob Balaban. The thriller is based on the novel Six Days of the Condor by James Grady and screenplay Three Days of the Condor by Lorenzo Semple Jr. & David Rayfiel and follows a young CIA analyst who stumbles onto a terrible but brilliant plan that threatens the lives of millions.
Ramin Djawadi’s ‘Runaway’ Cover from ‘Westworld’ Super Bowl Spot Released
Silvertone Music has released the cover version of Kanye West’s Runaway from the Super Bowl trailer for the second season of HBO’s Westworld. The track was arranged by the show’s composer Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, A Wrinkle in Time, Pacific Rim, Iron Man, The Great Wall) and is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. Premiering tonight is the third installment in the Cloverfield series, The Cloverfield Paradox directed by Julius Onah and starring David Oyelowo, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris O’Dowd, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ziyi Zhang and Daniel Brühl. Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Colossal, Happy Death Day) who previously scored 2016’s 10 Cloverfield Lane has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album is in the works and will be released by the composer’s label Sparks & Shadows. Leo Birenberg and Zach Robinson are scoring the upcoming YouTube Red original series Cobra Kai. The show is developed by Josh Heald (Hot Tub Time Machine), Jon Hurwitz & Hayden Schlossberg (Harold & Kumar series, American Reunion) and stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka who will reprise their roles from the 1984 original film. The series is set 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament and follows Johnny Lawrence as he seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo, reigniting his rivalry with a now successful Daniel LaRusso.
