Fil Eisler has composed the music for the upcoming AMC original series Dietland. The show is created by Marti Noxon and stars Joy Nash, Julianna Margulies, Adam Rothenberg, Rowena King, Mya Taylor and Mark Tallman. The drama is based on Sarai Walker’s 2015 novel of the same name and takes a loot at society’s obsession with weight loss and fashion as seen through the eyes of those who work in the beauty industry. Noxon is also executive producing the AMC Studios and Skydance Television production with David Ellison (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation), Dana Goldberg & Marcy Ross (Jack Ryan), Maria Grasso, Bonnie Curtis (Minority Report, A.I. Brian Reitzell to Score ‘Mars’ Season 2
Brian Reitzell has been tapped to score the second season of the National Geographic original series Mars. The show is created by Ben Young Mason & Justin Wilkes and stars JiHAE, Sammi Rotibi, Alberto Ammann, Clémentine Poidatz, Anamaria Marinca and Cosima Shaw. They are joined by new cast members Esai Morales, Roxy Sternberg, Gunnar Cauthery, Levi Fiehler, Evan Hall, Akbar Kurtha and Jeff Hephner. The second season of the drama jumps ahead several years into the future after the Daedalus astronauts have built a full-fledged colony called Olympus Town.
Will Bates Scoring Starz’s ‘Sweetbitter’
Will Bates is composing the original score for the upcoming Starz original series Sweetbitter. The show is created by Stephanie Danler based on her bestselling novel of the same title and stars Ella Purnell as a 22-year-old woman who arrives in New York City ready to pursue a new life and is quickly intoxicated by the chaotic, high-adrenaline environment behind-the-scenes of the restaurant world. Tom Sturridge, Caitlin FitzGerald, Paul Sparks and Evan Jonigkeit are co-starring.
CBS’ ‘Instinct’ to Feature Music by James S. Levine
James S. Levine is scoring the new CBS drama Instinct. The show is created by Michael Rauch and stars Alan Cumming, Bojana Novakovic, Daniel Ings, Naveen Andrews and Sharon Leal. The series follows a former CIA operative who is lured back to his old life when the NYPD needs his help to stop a serial killer. Rauch is also executive producing the CBS Television Studios production with Cumming, Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek: Discovery, The Mummy), Heather Kadin (Scorpion, Sleepy Hollow), Bill Robinson, James Patterson & Leopoldo Gout (Zoo, Alex Cross) and Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man, 500 Days of Summer) who also directed the pilot episode.

Premiering on Wednesday, March 7, in the U.S. is the crime drama series Hard Sun created by Neil Cross and starring Agyness Deyn, Jim Sturgess and Nikki Amuka-Bird. The show’s original music is composed by Neil Davidge (Unleashed, Push, Monsters: Dark Continent, Britannia, Good People). The series, which follows detective who seeks to enforce the law and protect their loved ones in a world that every day slips closer to certain destruction, premiered in January in the UK on BBC One and is making its U.S. debut on Wednesday on Hulu.
Also premiering on Wednesday is the new CW comedy drama Life Sentence created by Erin Cardillo & Richard Keith and starring Lucy Hale, Carlos PenaVega, Elliot Knight, Dylan Walsh, Gillian Vigman, Jayson Blair and Brooke Lyons. The composing duo of WAZ-Jackson (Cougar Town, Surviving Jack) is composing the show’s original music. The series follows a young woman who was diagnosed with terminal cancer and has to learn to live with the choices she made when she decided to “live like she was dying”. Clinton Shorter Scoring ‘Quantico’ Season 3
Clinton Shorter (District 9, Contraband, 2 Guns) is the new composer of the ABC drama Quantico. The composer is scoring the third season of the show created by Joshua Safran and starring Priyanka Chopra, Jake McLaughlin, Johanna Braddy, Russell Tovey, Alan Powell, Marlee Matlin and Blair Underwood. Michael Seitzman, Russell Lee Fine, Adam Armus, Robert Sertner, Mark Gordon & Nicholas Pepper are executive producing the ABC Studios production. Joel J. Richard (John Wick) has previously scored the first season of the series and Joseph Trapanese (Straight Outta Compton, Oblivion) composed the music for the second season.
Soundtrack Album for ITV’s & Netflix’s ‘Marcella’ to Be Released
Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the ITV original series Marcella.The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Lorne Balfe (The LEGO Batman Movie, Pacific Rim Uprising, Genius, The Crown, Terminator Genisys, Home). Also included is the opening titles song Fall performed by The Bug feat. Inga Copeland. The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 9, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Marcella is created by Hans Rosenfeldt & Nicola Larder and stars Anna Friel, Nicholas Pinnock, Nina Sosanya, Ray Panthaki, Jamie Bamber and Jack Doolan. The series is set in contemporary London and follows a detective who returns to the Metropolitan Police’s Murder Squad after a 10-year long career break to start a family.
Michael Andrews Scoring HBO’s ‘The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling’
Michael Andrews has recently scored the upcoming HBO documentary The Zen Diaries of Garry Shandling. The 2-parter is directed and executive produced by Judd Apatow (The 40-Year Old Virgin, Trainwreck, Knocked Up) and centers on the top stand-up comic and TV star who passed away in 2016. The documentary features conversations with more than 40 of Shandling’s family and friends, including James L. Brooks, Jim Carrey, Sacha Baron Cohen, David Coulier, Jon Favreau, Jay Leno, Kevin Nealon, Conan O’Brien, Bob Saget, Jerry Seinfeld and Sarah Silverman. Joe Beshenkovsky and Mike Bonfiglio are co-executive producing the project.
